The spacious cottage in the peaceful village of Thornton Rust is the perfect rural escape for families and friends, plus your favourite four-pawed companion. There are some beautiful walks in the area, including Addlebrough fell and Aysgarth Falls (within 4 miles). After a long walk with the hound, return to your cosy cottage to light the open fire or dine in the pretty garden.
This traditional Dales cottage is full of period charm and original features. The cosy lounge has a choice of comfortable seating, including an inviting window seat, along with an open fire where Rover can snooze. Alternatively, the pup may wish to slink off to the quiet snug. The spacious kitchen/diner has a roaring wood burner and farmhouse-style dining table for enjoying delicious meals together. A utility/shower room completes the ground floor. Upstairs, there is a super-king-size bedroom (which can be made up as a twin on request) with an en-suite shower room, a double, and a twin (accessed via a step). A step also leads to a family bathroom. Due to the age of this property, some of the first-floor rooms have restricted head height. Outside, discover a beautiful rear garden backing onto open fields. There is also a bistro set to the front of the cottage.
The area is bursting with walks to get the heart pumping and ears flapping. From the village, a 4-mile hike brings you to the summit of Addlebrough, a fell with breathtaking views across Wensleydale. The beauty spot of Aysgarth Falls (3.5 miles) is a must for the itinerary. This is a lovely place for a waterside picnic, followed by a walk through the surrounding woodlands. The bustling market town of Leyburn is 10 miles away and has a great range of paw-friendly shops, cafes, and restaurants.
