For a family or group of friends, looking for a seaside break with their dogs, this cottage is hard to beat. It’s set in a cul de sac, which immediately makes it peaceful, yet it’s so close to the bustling village of Braunton. Braunton, in general, is well-equipped for family holidays with dogs as most pubs are exceptionally dog friendly – ready to welcome Fido with an ear scratch and a dog treat.
Guests will find that the cottage is airy and spacious from the moment they enter. The lounge is large and complete with plenty of comfortable seating - in addition to a wood burner-effect electric fire - which is undoubtedly where a dog will end up sleeping on chillier days. The kitchen and diner is a fantastic open-plan space where you will find everything you need to cater whilst on holiday. Finally, on the ground floor, is a WC. The first floor is home to three bedrooms: a king-size with its own en-suite shower room, plus a twin and a single. The twin and the single can use the family bathroom. Outdoors, reached through patio doors in the lounge, there’s a south-facing courtyard. It has a dining table, chairs and a much-needed parasol as it’s a real sun trap. It’s ideal for a BBQ and al fresco dining.
Trips to this part of Devon are always full of adventure – for every member of your group, including much-loved dogs. One of the main attractions is the enormous network of footpaths and bridleways close to the property’s front door. The Tarka Trail is a fantastic example and is a 30-mile route that goes from Braunton to Meeth.
