On Norfolk’s unspoilt north coast and with the Broads National Park nearby, this converted barn is a brilliant base for a break with family or friends. Best of all, one four-pawed pal can join in the fun too! Brick-and-flint walls, exposed beams and a warming wood burner bring character to this former farm building, while its wonderful living space is full of modern must-haves to enhance every gathering.
At the heart of the single-storey property is a large open-plan lounge/dining room with rustic wood flooring, well-dressed windows, SkyTV and squashy sofas: perfect for downtime after a busy day. A striking open-beamed wall separates the dining area from the kitchen, allowing the chef to be part of any round-the-table conversation and Rover to keep an eye on everyone. Beyond the kitchen are three inviting bedrooms; two have a king-size bed and an en-suite bathroom each while the third has twin beds. The main bathroom has a walk-in shower for ultimate ease and convenience. A lawned garden at the rear of the property extends your living space. Complete with a wooden picnic table and BBQ, it’s a lovely setting for games of fetch and feasts alfresco.
The village of Ridlington sits amid lush countryside just 2.5 miles from Happisburgh – famous for its striking red and white lighthouse – and 6 miles from Mundesley. Both villages have a fabulous beach for waggy-tail walks, while the town of Cromer (14 miles) is a more traditional seaside resort complete with a promenade, pier and family entertainment. Wroxham, the capital of the Broads National Park, is 12 miles inland – hire a day boat for a voyage of discovery. Alternatively, explore the parkland at the National Trust’s Felbrigg Hall (15 miles) and Blickling Hall (14 miles) – a walk into the latter’s Great Wood will lead you to Norfolk’s very own pyramid!
