Eastcotte is a lovely place for a family get-together, or for a group of friends to enjoy each others' company. There is plenty of room for people to have their own space as well as spacious sitting and dining rooms. The house and gardens were enjoyed by all our family from age 3 to the eighty year olds !

Eastcotte proved to be an amazing place for three generations of our family to gather together for a wonderful holiday . Twelve of us, our three daughters, two husbands and five Grandchildren aged from three years to nineteen and two dogs had a great time in the house and garden. It was very interesting to read the history of the house, see the aRead morert work and many objects collected by Percy and Joan and to have the opportunity to stay in such a spacious, comfortable and obviously well-loved family home. We had great weather and were lucky to be able to walk to the beach, some of us braved the sea and enjoyed the sauna on the beach. The Sea Shanty is so convenient and serves excellent food. The garden and fire-pit were great and the older kids played football, basketball and table-tennis. Ronnie ran wild in the garden and we all enjoyed an early Easter Egg hunt and board games in the conservatory. The Masons Arms is a fantastic Pub and we had a delicious meal there, fantastic! Thankyou, Gordon and Bev MacDonnell and Family Hide

I have found this a difficult property to review with positives and negatives. To leave on a high note I'll start negatively. Cleanliness is a bit hit and miss, largely because its a big house and it's cluttered with ornaments and excess furniture. It felt a little grubby. The washing machine stank. With five kids in the party we intended to wash sRead moreome clothes, but couldn't. The sanitary ware is old, tired and some cracked with showers and plugs not attached. Shower mats would be useful to avoid slipping in the showers. The good points are that it's a nice, large house and accommodated our party of six adults and five children easily. The rooms are large with plenty of seating. The kids enjoyed the games room in the basement but we vacuumed it before using it. The beds are generally good with nice clean sheets, but not enough pillows. The gardens are extensive and the children loved to explore. The location is great with a short walk to the beach, uphill on the way back and convenient to explore the local area. There's a great cafe at the beach. Overall we had a great week and were very fortunate with the weather. Hide

A truly unique house in a spectacular location and with fabulous views. Beds were wonderfully comfortable with lovely cotton sheets and fluffy towels. Well equipped for 12 people with spacious and comfortable sitting room and big dining room. The kitchen and breakfast room are both small and only seat 4 which was a bit disappointing BUT, in a houseRead more this beautiful, it was a minor blip. Eastcott is only a short walk to the Masons Arms (superb pub and restaurant) and the beachs Sea Shanty cafe where breakfast, lunches and great cream teas are served. Only thing to be aware of is that none of us could get a phone signal most of the time! Hide

We were an extended family group 7 adults and five children 6-12 years of age on half term holiday. The children absolutely loved the outside space and spent hours exploring, playing at the tree house and football or in the basement space playing table tennis. We all loved the spacious comfortable family house with eclectic details and all the eqRead moreuipment needed to cater for our needs. The location was ideal - beautiful views from the house and walks to the sea and Branscombe Village 10 hilly minutes in either direction and cliff top walks signposted from just down the road. We loved our stay at Eastcotte. The house is beautifully decorated and unique, with breathtaking views of the sea; a perfect place to stay with a large group of friends. All rooms are very comfortable and the house was very warm, even in February. There is a washing and drying room, two fridges, a table tennis table in the basement, and the little Read morebed in the master bedroom is large enough for an adult. The grounds of the house are also extensive, with lots of outdoor space which feels private. We plan to return! Hide
