This brick-and-flint cottage is just a few streets from the beach in one of North Norfolk’s premier seaside towns. A conservatory and enclosed garden complement the pretty interior, creating a charming coastal retreat for five people and a pair of canine companions.

Period features, chic furnishings and a neutral colour scheme define this terraced property. With two comfortable sofas, a wood burner-effect electric fire and a TV for entertainment, the lounge provides the warmest of welcomes. A traditional dining suite to the rear of the room has elbow space for everyone – enjoy good food and lively conversation after cooking up a treat in the cottage-style kitchen. A conservatory extends your living space and is a great spot to let sleeping dogs lie. And, for the humans, there are three beautifully presented first-floor bedrooms: two doubles and a small double, plus a family bathroom. The splendid garden here is fully enclosed, with paving and a decked area – Fido can unwind sand-free while you sit in the sunshine.

Cromer is the quintessential seaside town – stroll along the prom and shoreline before a local-delicacy lunch: dressed crab. Less than 5 miles along the coast, Sheringham is a similarly popular setting for sandcastles and ice creams; at low tide enjoy a walk along the beach between the two and you’ll meet plenty of like-minded dog-lovers. For a change of scenery, the National Trust’s Felbrigg Hall is just 3 miles inland; there’s parkland for Fido to explore and a pet-friendly tearoom and shop. Close to the historic Georgian town that shares its name, Holt Country Park (10.5 miles) offers 100 acres of mixed woodland for more waggy-tailed fun.

  • 3 bedrooms – 2 doubles, 1 small double

This is a lovely cottage to stay at - spacious, tasteful interiors with a lot of great art, a welcoming feel. We loved how well stocked the kitchen was - it makes a stay so much easier! A fab location and although you cannot park next to the cottage there are plenty of parking places available in Morrisons and the public carpark, both of which are Read morejust round the corner. Gorgeous garden. Really nice and comfortable bedding and towels. We did have some feedback we've sent to the owners regarding cleanliness, the hard floors and shower needs some attention (other surfaces all fine). This cottage welcomes dogs, but if you're not a dog owners you may be put off by the dog smell of the living room. Hide

The cottage itself is in a great place for being near to town, parking close by and supermarkets all just round the corner. The house is starting to feel a little tired inside, lots of little issues which start to add up making it feel a like some TLC to bring it up to good condition. The cottage is ideally situated for visiting Cromer. It's well equipped and has lovely comfy beds, clean linen and towels. Do watch the stairs though, they're very steep (to be expected in a property of this age).
