The majestic Bamburgh Castle forms the backdrop to this luxury dog-friendly property, located in a rural spot 1 mile from the Northumberland Coast Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB). Take the dogs on pretty walks at nearby Budle Bay (1 mile), where your dog can run and splash about while you admire views of Holy Island on clear days. When everyone’s ready to relax, sink into the sofas at your peaceful abode and indulge in a film night as your worn-out pets doze off by the multi-fuel stove. There’s space for up to four guests and two faithful furry friends, so it’s great for a family trip or holiday among friends.
You’re bound to be impressed by the gorgeous layout of this stylish lodge, which features a floor-to-ceiling glass wall at one end – so you can lap up those views – and a wraparound terrace outside for relaxing in the fresh air. It’s been tastefully decorated, with lots of unique artifacts made from natural materials, and seaside-themed artwork adorning the walls. The utility room is handy for brushing off muddy paws and leaving your outdoor gear. On a lazy holiday morning, prepare yourself a Nespresso coffee then enjoy it on the decking as you make a plan for the day.
There’s so much to do for adventure-hungry visitors, whether you fancy walking the scenic Northumberland Coast Path (join at Bamburgh, 2 miles) or having a day out rambling in the Northumberland National Park (16 miles). We reckon the dogs’ll be more than happy with either! Holy Island, accessible at low tide via a causeway 11.5 miles to the north, is well worth a trip. Its pretty tidal mudflats, salt marshes and varied wildlife are sure to delight both human and canine visitors (make sure you check the tides before you go!).
