Dip in the sea at Porthleven, while your happy hound splashes in the shallows, before returning to your welcoming holiday home to bask in the Cornish sunshine in the enclosed garden. Sleeping six guests, this four-bedroom hideaway also has a warming wood burner for toasting cold feet and paws after crisp autumn and winter walks. It is also ideally located for long walks along the South West Coast Path.

Return from your dog-friendly excursions to settle in the lounge/diner, watching the Smart TV on chilly days, while your pal stretches out in the warmth of the wood burner, or opening the French doors in the summer so he can pad outside. The kitchen is well-equipped for whipping up holiday feasts and has ample space for feeding your furry friend. There is also a WC downstairs. All four bedrooms, two king-sizes, one with an en-suite shower room and ocean views, and two singles, one also looking out towards the coast, are upstairs, together with the family bathroom. Spend fine evenings in the garden, while the pup plays.

Stroll less than 0.5 miles to the sandy beach, where your canine companion can swim and play on the sand all year round at the eastern end. Energetic pups and their people might also like to embark upon a scenic stretch of the South West Coast Path. Try the 13.5-mile section out along the edge of the spectacular Lizard Peninsula. Walk 0.5 miles from the cottage to the National Trust’s Penrose, where you and your faithful friend can explore the woodland alongside Cornwall’s largest natural lake.

A great location, close to the centre of Porthleven, but in a quiet area too. Lovely views of the coastline. Clean and well presented. The welcome pack was excellent, such a range of things included.

Ideal location for an amble into Porthleven. The house is very comfortable. Two good sized double bedrooms + 2 singles. Plenty of seating downstairs. Kitchen is large and well equipped. Very good TV. Parking very close to the house. There was a very small issue with the shower door leaking a little in the family bathroom but other than that we had Read morea great time. Hide

Cottage is in a good location however it is worth noting it is at the top of a steep hill. Porthleven is beautiful with the shingle beach and working harbour. There are lots of small independent shops and some lovely places to eat including the Harbour Inn (the seafood sharing platter was delicious) Porthleven is very dog friendly and this made Read moreour holiday even more enjoyable. Parking at the cottage is great and the garden is lovely. We had great weather and it would be helpful to have a garden parasol and some outdoor seat cushions. Inside the cottage the sofas, could do with updating as unfortunately they are tired and rather uncomfortable. Two of the bedrooms have king sized beds (we slept very well) and there is plenty of storage. Porthleven is a great base for visiting Falmouth, the Lizard Peninsula, St Ives and St Michaels Mount.
