If you’re a couple hoping to share a peaceful rural holiday with your two pets, this cosy cabin in south-west Cumbria is the ideal spot. The quirky wooden accommodation is housed within a traditional stone barn, and offers a luxury glamping experience where the dogs can be very much part of the fun. You’ll be right on the edge of the Lake District National Park, opening up ample opportunities for long walks through stunning countryside, before settling in your characterful den for the evening.
You’ll enter your temporary abode through a sweet archway, stepping into the large open-plan living space that’s made from attractive timber. This space has everything you need for relaxing together – a sofa, a dining table and chairs plus a striking four-poster bed. In the small (but perfectly formed) kitchen area, you can prepare sandwiches for tomorrow’s hike as you listen to something interesting on the DAB radio while your pets stretch out on the rug nearby. The separate bathroom has a spacious walk-in shower and WC. The barn is located within the yard of a former barn, and there’s an outdoor area for making the most of the fresh Lakeland air.
There’s plenty to discover with your furry friends in the nearby area, with the Cumbrian Coastal Way accessible on foot from the property. Geology fans will love exploring Millom Rock Park (3 miles) while the beach at Silecroft (2.5 miles) is another great spot for a doggy run around. You won’t need to go far for a holiday pint – there’s a dog-friendly pub 2 miles away in Silecroft.
