Within 10 miles of Aysgarth Falls and surrounded by idyllic countryside, this light and airy barn is perfect for a group keen to experience the natural wonders and communities that define this pocket of the Yorkshire Dales National Park. Just outside the delightful village of Burtersett, the two-storey barn, which was once a hayloft, offers a fantastic base for activity-led visitors who like exploring a new area on two feet and two wheels. With a modern feel throughout, the barn enjoys spacious living areas, with underfloor heating downstairs and a Juliet balcony showcasing comfort and style for humans and hounds alike.
In the ground-floor lounge/diner, the group can cosy up on an L-shaped sofa in front of an afternoon film, while the Victorian oak table, a few paw prints away, is an ideal setting for a hearty evening meal. The kitchen is a great place to gather or keep the cook company, especially around the breakfast bar. The ground floor is also home to an en-suite twin room with an interesting quirk: it has no external windows. An oak and glass staircase leads to the first floor’s two bedrooms: an en-suite king-size bedroom with a Juliet balcony and a spacious en-suite family room ideal for parents with children, or friends who are happy to lodge together. The outside undercover illuminated seating area is a fantastic place to gather and admire the countryside in the day, or the stars at night.
The village of Hawes (1 mile) offers a warm Yorkshire welcome to happy hounds, while the stunning waterfalls at Hardraw Force (3 miles), Askrigg (5 miles) and Aysgarth Falls (9 miles) are the birthplaces of a thousand selfies. The limestone cluster at The Buttertubs (6 miles) is a sight to behold, as are the views from the footpaths and trails that can be picked up almost immediately from the cottage.
