Enjoy a unique getaway at this former-Sunday School sitting in an attractive old church just outside Lanteglos. Sleeping four people across two bedrooms and welcoming one canine companion, it’s ideal for small families or groups of friends who are in search of a quirky yet stylish retreat to call home while they explore Cornwall’s spectacular coast with their pup in tow. Set off for walkies along the woodland paths of Hall Walk, a stunning four-mile circular route that offers panoramic views over Fowey Harbour. In the evening, come home to enjoy an al fresco dinner in your courtyard garden while your pup plays in the enclosed space.
Four stone steps lead you up to your cottage’s front door. Step inside and store your dog-walking gear in the hallway, before you make your way to the open-plan lounge/kitchen/dining area, where subtle coastal styling is anchored by a traditional wood burner and beautiful slate flooring. When it’s time to eat, head to the chic kitchen area to whip up some dinner to share at the circular dining table. Alternatively, make your way out into the pretty courtyard garden and dine alfresco while your pup runs freely in the enclosed space. Afterwards, warm your toes by the wood burner in the lounge area while your pup snoozes at your feet. At the end of the day, head upstairs and you’ll find two lovely bedrooms with traditional beams and vaulted ceilings – a splendid king-size with rural views framed by its impressive arched window, and a charming twin. A family bathroom with a large shower completes the layout. Head into the historic village of Polruan (3.5 miles) to admire its colourful cottages, before you catch the dog-friendly ferry across the estuary to Fowey to join the South West Coast Path for walkies.
