Situated in a secluded spot on a historic farm steading in the Upper Esk Valley, this beautifully reimagined and thoughtfully updated barn conversion offers fabulous holiday accommodation for couples and smaller families. With ample space for four guests, the property also has room for a canine friend to join you for long rural walks across the North York Moors. With a range of features including handsome oak flooring, timber beams, vaulted ceilings, a traditional wood burner, exposed stonework and underfloor heating, this fantastic single-level getaway is ideal for walkers, cyclists and nature lovers discovering the area’s serene countryside.

At the heart of this stunning barn conversion is the elegant open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner. This beautiful space has a high vaulted and beamed ceiling, with a cheery wood burner, Smart TV, ample seating, a sweet dining table, a breakfast bar and sleek worktops. There are two characterful en-suite bedrooms at either end of the property: one step leads up to a lovely king-size room, and another step leads down to the super-king-size room. Outside, the patio has garden furniture and a lovely lawn surrounded by mature trees and a drystone wall, offering a cheerful spot for dining alfresco with your pet snoozing in the shade. Private parking is available for two cars. Please note children are requested not to climb walls and trees; dogs should be supervised in the rear paddock due to the nature of the drystone wall.

The picturesque villages of Castleton (0.5 miles) and Danby (1.5 miles) have a choice of pubs and shops, with the nearby Danby Lodge National Park Visitor Centre (2 miles) making a great starting point for exploring the North York Moors with your canine pal. The coast is within easy reach, and dogs are welcome at Runswick Bay, Saltburn-by-the-Sea and Port Mulgrave all within 13 miles.

Hog Barn is a nice property in a good location with views outside the barn over the lovely Yorkshire countryside ideal location to get away from it all. Nearby Danby Lodge National Park very good for short walk with the dog and the tea rooms were very good and dog friendly.

This place is so beautiful. Cosy, clean and really classy. The photos dont do it justice and the location is just perfect - quiet and peaceful, yet in a great position to visit local towns and villages in North Yorkshire. We will definitely be back. Highly recommended.

We had such a lovely stay at the Hog Barn for our wedding weekend. We wanted a cosy hideaway to come back to after the celebrations and this was a perfect choice. Rob and Helen were fantastic hosts. Access upon arrival was well communicated and easy. Rob gave some fantastic recommendations for restaurants and walks, great taste! We had a wonderfully relaxing week at Hog Barn. It is well positioned and is in easy reach of the coastal towns and villages of Whitby, Saltburn, Staithes, Sandsend, Robin Hoods Bay etc. The beds were very comfortable and the barn was well equipped with everything youll need. We loved it here - perfect space for us. Two bathrooms was a rare and appreciated part of a cottage of this size. It was a lovely peaceful location and a beautiful, thoughtful conversion. The host was very welcoming and helpful, but not intrusive.

It was a pleasure to stay at Hog Barn. The owners were very welcoming and helpful when needed and the location is excellent. The house itself is warm and comfortable, and easy to access with car park on site and very close to the front door. Good walking country and wonderful views.

Comfy well equipped cottage in a very quiet and unspoiled setting, in walking distance to three good pubs (as long as you don't mind a short walk) The owner is attentive and provided excellent local knowledge and advice. A very enjoyable stay.
