Property code: OC-DS1044

Situated in the picturesque Yorkshire Dales between Gunnerside and Reeth, this stylish two-storey stone cottage offers a host of modern creature comforts in traditional surroundings. Set in a village that is typical of the area, and with exposed beams and feature stonework sitting alongside stylish soft furnishings, the cottage enjoys amazing views across the River Swale and Whitaside and would be a cracking base for a family or group of friends who value days relaxing indoors as much as walkers and cyclists longing to follow the paths and trails on the moors and fells that dominate this area.

Once through the flagstone paved hallway, enter a spacious open-plan lounge and kitchen/diner. This light and airy space will be a popular gathering point for breakfast plotting, afternoons in front of the TV or movie nights after a hearty meal, with plenty of comfortable places to sit. A handy shower room sits off this area, as does a utility/drying room that is sure to welcome plenty of battle-worn clothing. The welcoming bedrooms on the first floor – a king-size bedroom and a single room – feature original wooden floorings, with the latter also showcasing original beams. A shower room sits nearby. The group can dine alfresco in the gravelled and paved seating area to the rear of the property, with pleasant views of the hills and fields as their backdrop.

The village of Low Row (0.5 miles) is home to a range of dog-friendly amenities with an array of footpaths and trails found nearby, with Gunnerside (2 miles), part of the Coast-to-Coast Walk, amongst other attractions. The market towns of Richmond (14 miles) and Leyburn (15 miles) offer a range of dog-friendly pubs and eateries, with Richmond, the Gateway to the Dales, home to a Norman castle wherein dogs will be treated like royalty.

A cottage in a lovely position with good views, but; Considering check in time and reasons given the so the cottage can be cleaned and prepared, the place could have been a lot cleaner, kitchen floor needed brushing day one, look under the main bed, we would bet even now it hasnt been cleaned (we have picture) it is really bad; shower not properlyRead more clean. Mattress could do with replacing. No recycling bins provided (this is important) and rubbish collection not clear, also providing only one black bin liner when rubbish collection was apparently mid week. I doubt you will not use this review. Hide

Lovely converted barn, in good position in Swaledale. Well equipped. Some of the equipment and finishing was not to the highest standard, but this did not detract in a dog-friendly cottage. Having two bathrooms was a bonus. One of the bedrooms had a window onto the road which meant some road noise, but quiet between 11pm and 6 am. Views from the baRead moreck of the property are outstanding, which gets the sun virtually all day. Overall we had a lovely week. Hide

The property is excellent. The views are stunning. We were only there 5 days but settled in so quickly. The garden is described as enclosed, but if you have a dog it would be possible for them to get down to the field behind. This was not an issue for us as I noticed this from the photo online, so our dog always went out on a long lead due to thRead moree sheep in the field. I would certainly recommend the property. Hide
