Property code: OC-WILLHO

A delightful country cottage with a sprawling leafy lawn, set on the fringes of Halesworth and ideally located for exploring the Suffolk coast. This secluded hideaway is a wonderful base for a family escape or friends’ reunion with up to three waggy-tailed tag-a-longs. Bask in the salty ocean breeze as you scamper along Southwold Pier (8 miles) and listen to the waves crashing below, before stargazing perched on the patio with a hot drink in hand.

This charming property features a traditional country interior with antique-style wooden furniture, earthy tones, and cosy social areas. Slip off sandy harnesses then pad into the spacious lounge. In cooler months, throw another log on the roaring open fire and settle down on the comfortable sofas with a post-adventure brew. On sunnier days, prop open the patio doors in the sun-dappled conservatory and gather for an indulgent afternoon tea while your curious canines explore the garden. Rustle up a tempting morning spread in the large kitchen then adorn the table with a selection of dishes and gather the pack for a hearty breakfast. Celebrating something special? Grab a bottle of bubbly then eat at the long feasting table in the formal dining space. Slink off for a moment of peace in the snug and browse the bookshelf or select a game for the evening entertainment. Retreat upstairs to discover four inviting bedrooms, each with plush soft furnishings and plenty of cosy nooks for dog beds. The jewel of the property lies in the generous outdoor space, perfect for ball-chasing fun on the lawn, sipping a tipple on the love seat, or escaping the elements in the summer house.

Scope out the local art centre (500 metres) where cultured canines are welcome inside the stylish café for a light lunch or freshly baked treat. Get noses twitching as you stroll in the salty ocean breeze on Southwold Pier (8 miles) with an ice cream in hand, or venture to the dune-backed shores of Walberswick Beach (9 miles) for wave-chasing antics.

Loved the house and all it's comforts. It was really comfortable, warm and spacious. Plenty of room for us all - a party of 8 and 4 dogs. The garden was amazing - could not believe the size. The dogs were running to and fro' - no walks needed! Visited Aldeburgh, Walberswick and Southwold all with dog friendly beeches. The town of Halesworth is sRead moremall with some quant shops and art exhibition at the church, a bonus with prices very reasonable. Hide

Willow House was perfect for our family get together. There is plenty of space, all the bedrooms are large, the kitchen and table provide a good focal point for family meals, and the other rooms give enough space to find a quiet corner. It is well equipped and the house folder contains info on everything we needed. The garden is very big and was grRead moreeat for our three dogs under supervision - it is not fully secure for some over-inquisitive dogs! The location is very good. I don't drive. I could walk into Halesworth along the road or the disused railway footpath that runs along the back of the house in about 15 - 20 minutes. Also easily walkable to and from the station. Nearer is an excellent well stocked farm shop. I would recommend for big groups and may return myself. Hide

The property is a great size with plenty of space in the house and a huge garden. Everything in the house was of good quality and well maintained. It was cleaned to a high standard. It is near enough to town to be convenient, and just far enough out to be quiet and peaceful. A great base to explore the area. We had a lovely break. Thanks

Willow House was really welcoming, a stunningly large garden with outdoor eating furniture. An added benefit of our August stay were the delicious blackberries and apples in the garden. All the rooms are a generous size and the kitchen is well equipped which was great for us as we cooked together a lot. It's a fantastic location for visiting, SouthRead morewold and other popular Suffolk coastal towns. Halesworth itself is delightful and the take away curry we ordered from Raj Puth was impressive indian cuisine indeed. Hide

Nice house, well furnished (tired in places) and convenient location for travelling around. Brilliant garden for the dogs to charge around. The house was however somewhat personal and the water pressure in both bathrooms was weak. An old greenhouse, and a pile of metal and wood in the garden should really be removed for safety purposes: there is aRead more warning. Path behind house leads to a little woodland area, and then onto town, but runs past actively used fields for cows, so not really convenient to allow dogs off their leads. Another fair dog walk across the road (opposite the garden centre) leading to The Orchard was good, but you have to cut across a quite road within a housing area so again a limitation for dogs off leads, That said, Dunwich Forest wasn't far away, but we did see an adder whilst there so be careful. Overall, would we recommend and consider going again - yes. Note: coming from Halesworth, the house is on the right with a little lay by in front... the house name is covered up... if you get to the garage, turnaround! Hide

A very homely feel to this property even though it is very big! Well placed to visit a variety of different places in Suffolk, and for the town of Halesworth. There is also a good dog walk behind the house which can be accessed from a nearby lane.
