A beautiful, exposed brick cottage nestled in the bustling heart of Holt and perfectly positioned for tail-wagging adventures along the Norfolk coast, this luxurious retreat is ideal for a sophisticated getaway with family or friends plus a favourite four-pawed pal. Pose with your pup for a blustery group portrait on the shingly shoreline of Salthouse Beach (4 miles), then dry soggy paws in the warmth of the wood burner while the humans toast with a glass of bubbly.

This characterful property sympathetically marries traditional charm with contemporary elegance. Picture exposed beamed ceilings, original brickwork textures, sleek soft furnishings, and neutral tones. Free your pup from his sandy harness then pad into the lounge. Throw another log on the crackling fire set in an inglenook fireplace, sink onto the plush seats, and cuddle up under the cosy throws. Peruse the bookshelf for a handy guidebook or flick through the Smart TV for a family film. Step up into the wonderful farmhouse kitchen with stone-flagged flooring and rustle up a snack board for the hungry troops. Gather around the rustic kitchen table to while away the evening with good food and great company. Ascend the Norfolk winder staircase to the sleeping areas on the first floor. Choose from a peaceful double and two bright singles. Completing the property is a family bathroom with an inviting rainfall shower.

Soak up the rich heritage of your tranquil surroundings with a scamper along the intriguing Holt Owl Trail (200 metres), then head coast side for waterfront zoomies and wave-chasing fun on the shingly shores of Weybourne Beach (4 miles). Perfect little place, kitchen well equipped and the sofa mega comfortable. Parking was ok off site but needed a ring up for more directions. The only downside was that the shower was a little bit weak not powerful enough but wouldn't stop me from staying there again.

Lovely cottage, very tastefully decorated and full of character. Great location for shopping in Holt and for visiting the surrounding area. Not much in the way of a welcome pack so go prepared, that said, everything you need is in Holt. Arriving at the start of your stay and the departure can be a little chaotic if the other rentals are also leaviRead moreng. The road outside is single lane so when unloading you will be blocking the road, the designated car parking space is roughly a 6 minute walk back through the town, it's a little tricky to find so would suggest you get detailed instructions before you arrive. Beds were comfy with nice linen, nice towels although bath sheets instead of bath towels would have been a nice touch. The only outdoor space is at the front, a small 'bistro' table and two chairs and as others have said beware the very close proximity of the neighbours at the back of the house. The stairs, as is usual with these type of cottages, are small and twisty so may be a little difficult for anyone with mobility issues. Hide

Lovely, comfortable cottage. Well situated on a quiet lane but very nearby the shops and restaurants. Great for two couples and a dog. Loved the huge kitchen table. Great forecast meals in and a game or two.

Quiet but central location in the lovely Holt, with its wonderful selection of shops and cafes. Just tucked away down a quiet road, Peacock Cottage was a gem. For two of us, the living room was perfect and cosy with the log burner fire set every evening. The large kitchen was very well stocked and we were able to cook plenty of meals, buying theRead more local produce in Holt. The bedrooms are small (being a Norfolk cottage, we expected this) but with super comfortable beds. There is limited outside space (only a couple of chairs at the front of the property) but - for us during a winter break - this was not an issue and there are plenty of walks in/around the area to get outdoors. Lovely little cottage in an excellent location. Rooms are well decorated if not a little smaller than we expected. Felt a bit snug for a family of 4. Great bathroom and well equipped kitchen. The dishwasher broke whilst we were there and the letting agents sorted it very quickly and efficiently. We perhaps wouldnt stay again only because it can be Read moreused for families with dogs and we personally could tell dogs stayed there as it had that doggy smell which was a shame - but my own fault for booking somewhere that clearly states they accept dogs! Peacock cottage is well equipped. The kitchen, in particular, is spacious and the sitting room and the bedrooms are comfortable if slightly smaller. The only significant iinternal issue is the staircase which is quite steep with relatively narrow treads. I have size 11 feet and I am a little unsteady so I was particularly careful to place my feet eRead morespecially coming downstairs. The only place to sit outside is in the small front garden space between the cottage and the roadside. The road is very quiet so this is not a major problem and it is a pleasant warm place to sit in the evening. However, there is nowhere for kids to play. The parking is a couple of minutes drive away. We have used this facility on a number of previous visits and have never had any problems. It is worth noting that there is a footpath between the allotment car park and the top of Peacock Lane so it only takes 10 minutes of so to walk to and fro. Hide

Had a lovely time in this cottage which is extremely well-placed in the middle of Holt, and very comfortable despite its size - the kitchen is especially spacious for such a small cottage. Nice little cottage in a great location. Parking didn't bother us, even with two young children. The bedrooms are a little small, not much room to walk around each bed, apart from the single room. Had everything we needed for holiday, the teabags and milk were welcomed, whilst we waited for our delivery.
