Escape to this Grade II-listed country home brimming with traditional charm, set on a private estate on the fringes of Holt. This welcoming abode is the perfect relaxing retreat for friends and family exploring the delights of Norfolk with their waggy-tailed companion. Composed canines can drink in the sweeping emerald vistas from the comfort of a vintage steam train aboard the North Norfolk Railway (500 metres), before gearing up for ball games in the lush lawned garden.

This striking stonework building features a beautifully remodelled interior brimming with understated elegance. Enjoy exposed brick walls, earthy neutral tones, and upcycled vintage pieces. Step into the spacious hallway and towel off any muddy paws before padding into the coastal-inspired lounge. Tend to the crackling open fire (with the help of your furry friend) then flop down on the soft sofas and settle in with a film or browse the bookshelf for an easy holiday read. Amateur chefs can put their knife skills to the test in the sleek kitchen with stone worktops and contemporary appliances. Prepare a special holiday supper for your hungry hound then whip up an indulgent dinner for the rest of the pack. On balmy summer days, prop open the patio doors in the conservatory and feast in the light-flooded dining space overlooking the leafy garden. Full to the brim with good food, retire to the tranquil sleeping areas, consisting of a cosy twin, a bright double, and a spacious en-suite king-size. The sprawling outdoor space ensures plenty of room for ball-throwing fun on the lawn, sunbathing on the patio, or relaxing in the summerhouse.

Sniff out the intriguing wildlife scents during a scamper in the sun-dappled woodland at Holt Country Park (2.5 miles), or satisfy the history buffs and curious canines of the group with a visit to the crumbling monastic ruins of Binham Priory (8 miles). Fun-loving pups can wave-chase, dune-sniff, and sand-roll to their little heart’s content on the stretch of golden shoreline at Wells-next-the-Sea (14 miles).

The Keep in Holt is in a lovely secluded setting, with plenty of private, off-road parking. The cottage is well-used, but comfortable, and ideal if you have a dog staying with you. A walk in to Holt takes 15 to 20 minutes, and there are lots of local attractions within easy driving distance, such as Wells next the Sea, Holkham and Brancaster, with Read moretheir fabulous beaches, Sheringham and Cromer coastal towns, North Norfolk Railway and Blickling Hall NT, which is wonderful. The cottage looks attractive from the outside and the inside doesnt disappoint. Generous seating in the lovely welcome feeling sitting room with a beautiful dinning room extension. The kitchen has everything you could need, plenty of glasses, crockery, cookware, cutlery and utensils as well as a generous amount of dishwasher tablets. The only downsRead moreide of the kitchen was the lack of heating in it. Both bedrooms were tastefully decorated and felt restful. The en-suite shower room was clean and spacious, if a smidge cold, with the shower water being lovely and hot, and large fluffy towels for afterwards. It was great to have so much hanging space for coats, space for shoes and somewhere to sit while sorting oneself out in the entrance hall. Hide

The cottage is located in a quiet area with good access to local facilities and countryside. However, the state of repair and cleanliness were poor and I therefore would not recommend this property.
