Occupying a central spot in the tranquil fishing port of Porthleven, this stunning residence provides elegant accommodation for larger families and groups of friends celebrating a special occasion in a beautiful part of South Cornwall. With ample space for up to ten human and two canine guests, the manor house dates back to the Victorian era and has been sumptuously updated while retaining plenty of original features including an eye-catching turret, stained glass windows, exposed stonework and traditional timber beams.
Entering via the Victorian front door, the slate-tiled hallway leads to a spacious study with a granite chimney breast and a handy desk. Further on, there’s a pretty lounge with a big bay window, plenty of seating and a classic chess set. At the heart of the house is the grand open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner; the lounge is ideal for enjoying a movie on the Smart TV, and the fantastic dining area is perfect for enjoying celebratory meals together. Two steps lead down into a beautifully equipped kitchen. Upstairs, a mid-level landing leads up into the turret which has been transformed into a stunning reading nook with impressive stonework and stained glass arched windows. The property offers five elegant en-suite bedrooms: a charming twin, three beautiful king-size rooms (one with a spiral staircase leading up into a delightful snug with enchanting coastal views), and a stunning super-king-size room with timber beams, stone walls and an in-room freestanding roll-top clawfoot bath. Outside, the paved terrace has plenty of outdoor furniture and a BBQ and leads onto a vast lawn where your four-pawed companions can run and play.
Porthleven makes a fantastic base for dogs and their owners exploring a stunning part of the Cornish coastline. Dogs are welcome at attractions including Trengwainton Garden, Rinsey Head, Flambards and the Penrose Estate, all within 15 miles. The town itself has shops and galleries to peruse and there is a small sandy beach just beyond the harbour that you can take a stroll along. The harbour area has some lovely spots to grab some food too.
