Property code: OC-6NG

A sophisticated red brick cottage surrounded by a lush lawn and mature foliage and set in the bustling seaside town of Southwold. This vibrant coastal retreat is ideal for families or small groups of friends holidaying with a couple of furry companions. Sniff out the local inn (1 mile) beckoning in four-pawed patrons with a meaty treat and serving up unbeatably fresh seafood for the humans. Back at base, get tails wagging with garden games and chilled al fresco aperitifs.

This thoughtfully presented property features a colourful country interior with exposed beams, calming neutral tones, and joyful splashes of seafoam green and magenta. Unclip sandy harnesses and towel off paws before stepping into the light-flooded lounge. Peruse the tempting bookshelf and settle in by the bay window. Sink onto the sofas with a brew and flick through the Smart TV.  Pad into the airy kitchen and raid the sleek cabinets for snacks then treat your hungry hounds to a special supper. Throw open the patio doors to embrace the breeze, then rope in the resident bartender to shake up a selection of summer-inspired cocktails on the wooden worktops. Marking a special occasion? Gather in the tropical-themed dining room and adorn the table with a delicious spread and drinks aplenty. Escape the madness with a moment of peace in the tranquil snug area before turning in for the night. Ascend the staircase to discover three spacious bedrooms, consisting of a super-king, an adaptable twin/super-king, and a double. After morning walkies, sip your coffee on the patio and admire your pups snuffling in the enclosed garden.

Inhale the salty ocean scents and watch the waves crashing below with a nostalgic scamper along Southwold Pier (500 metres) or feel the wind in your fur during a blustery adventure along the coastal path to Walberswick (1.5 miles). Don’t miss a visit to the cliff-backed sands of Covehithe Beach (5 miles) for year-round ball-chasing and sand-digging antics.

This cottage is so well placed we parked and did not get the car back out until we left. It is so well equipped there was nothing we needed that we did not find. The beds are like clouds and a lot of room nothing felt like it was in the way. The two reception rooms are great as it allowed quiet time while the others watched the TV in the eveningRead mores. The garden is big and the owners have left a gate that you can put across to stop dogs or children getting out which was really good. Hide

Garden is not secure I had the scariest 10 minutes of my life when my medium sized dog got in the next doors back garden and the ran out the front of the property. The cottage its self was lovely and a great size and I would have booked again if the back garden was secure.

The house is spacious, beautifully decorated both in terms of soft furnishings and decoration. The bedrooms are sumptuous although the duvets could be slightly larger to accommodate the size of the beds and the bathrooms/toilets perfectly adequate and functional in size and equipment for six people. Welcome goods, milk / biscuits much appreciatedRead more on arrival. Unfortunately upon our arrival after 4pm, we found that the property had not been cleaned/beds changed from the outgoing guests visit. Making the agents aware of this error, this was rectified with the cleaner changing the beds that evening and cleaned the house top to bottom the next morning, however, it is fair to say that it was a disappointing start to our holiday. By way of compensation, we were allowed an additional two hours extra to depart the house at the end of our stay. All said, we would certainly love to return to this property and would highly recommend to potential future holidaymakers. Hide

Cleaning is still not of acceptable standard. Whilst surface cleaned there is no attempt at deep cleaning. No adequate vacuum for dog friendly property. Doubt you would be able to clean a caravan with it. After first visit, we now bring our own! Extra premium paid to stay at Christmas and yet not even a token representation to the holiday. We haRead moreve stayed in accommodation costing far less in Southwold and there has been a tree and decorations. There is not the equipment to cook a Christmas lunch. Saucepans too small and not enough. No serving dishes. PLENTY of crockery but no cups and saucers. There is a reliance on guests to provide washing up liquid, hand wash and toilet roll - except for complimentary first roll - not even new; whatever is left from previous occupant. House is cold, despite amazing new windows! They are really good and huge improvement on old broken window frames and glass. Garden still requires a gate to make secure, not some temporary wire. At least there is proper fencing at rear of property now. This must have been a beautiful garden, which is now neglected apart from grass cutting, which is left dumped in a pile. Not acceptable for a dog friendly property. The beds are very comfortable and bed linen of excellent quality. We love this property because of its location and also parking - all be it a challenge, but it is time to start a maintenance programme and ensure decor and furnishings are updated. As an aside, we noticed there was no one renting the week before Christmas. We enquired about coming a few days earlier. The figure quoted was absolutely ridiculous and quite frankly greedy. The owner could have had some extra income for an otherwise vacant time. There would have saved on cleaning , laundry etc. It would be interesting to know if the owner was actually contacted, or the letting agent decided independently on the price. Very short sited and not how I would expect valued customers to be treated. In absolute contrast last year whilst staying at same property I had a fall in the town which required a hospital stay and surgery. Again, there was no one staying after us, and we were able to extend our holiday for a reasonable amount. We were very grateful and are highlighting it would seem figures quoted depend on who you speak to. We love Southwold and 6 North Green. However, with a little attention to detail and some extra TLC, this lovely house could be even more special. Thank you for your review. We are sorry to hear about your experience and appreciate your feedback as it helps improve our service. Hide

This was a great property in a great location with the high street close by and having a pleasant feel with plenty of independent shops, great cafes/bakeries pubs and restaurants. The beach is a gentle stroll away and our two dogs absolutely loved running on the beach, just be aware they are not allowed on the main beach from April to September. ThRead moree house was great, with some quirky but fun colour schemes, and the fixtures and fittings were of high quality and very comfortable. The property really suited our multi generational family group and the large garden is a bonus as were the large TVs and the integrated entertainment system. Would recommend to others and would definitely go back again if we return to the beautiful town of Southwold. There are just a few rough edges appearing since the property was redeveloped but with a little TLC these can be in the main quickly rectified. Hide

We stayed here in July 2024 with our two dogs. Overall it is a lovely property in a fab location in Southwold, walking distance to high street, beach and nearby villages. You can tell money has been spent on the decor. However, the garden needs a lot of TLC - we were disappointed upon arrival. Also it is not secure, although there is some fencingRead more provided to close the gap from garden to driveway. The property could have been cleaner, there were a lot of cobwebs around the windows which had been there awhile. Plus the rug that was in the lounge was very dirty and smelt so we had to remove it and mop the floor. We experienced a leak in one of the bedroom ceilings following heavy rain. The property could do with some maintenance and a good clean. The driveway is not very wide and to get to the property is down a side lane which is tight, so if you have a large vehicle you could experience difficulties. Despite the issues we experienced - we resolved them and it didnt affect our holiday. Hide
