Overstrand is a beautiful spot on the Norfolk coast. The village has an Edwardian influence and a refined air that lends grace and charm to your surroundings and is within easy reach of plenty of attractions. There are good walks and days out to be had locally on the vast stretches of golden, sandy beach (0.3 miles) or stay up high and take a cliff walk to see some beautiful views that Winston Churchill himself would have seen when holidaying here. Nearby is the bustling Victorian town of Cromer (3 miles) with its iconic Grade II-listed pier which houses the Pavillion Theatre. You’ll also find a cinema, a golf club and tennis courts here and much more besides; there are also rail links to Norwich (26 miles) from the town if you are looking for a cultural day out with a bit of retail therapy. The National Trust properties of Blickling Hall (11.5 miles) and Felbrigg (4.5 miles) are both close by and a wander around the elegant Georgian town of Holt (13 miles) is a delight not to be missed – seek out its boutiques, food hall, café culture, antique showrooms and art galleries.
Tucked away down a small flint-walled lane and just a few short strides to the sea, this cottage is a quintessential coastal holiday home. Characterful, charming and built in the early 1800s, its latch key doors, beams and wooden floors all add to the ambience. A lovely cottage to enjoy at any time of the year, but if you are enjoying an out-of-season break, the living room has a wood burner to cosy around when returning from a bracing coastal walk. Settle down here and watch the Smart TV or play a game from the games cupboard before stepping up two small steps in the kitchen. This area is well equipped with a built-in gas cooker, microwave, fridge/freezer, dishwasher and washing machine – everything you need to keep all four guests fed and happy. A further two small steps lead to the quaint dining room with its tiled floor and space for everyone to eat. There is a door to the garden here too. Completing this floor is the family bathroom with a shower over the bath and WC. Head up the Norfolk winder staircase to the first floor where two interlinked bedrooms await: a double which leads directly into a twin.
Choose from either the front or rear garden spaces and chase the sun to get the best of the weather. There is seating available for four guests on these patios when you want to dine alfresco. There is roadside parking available in the village.
