There are some excellent, woof-friendly days out nearby, including Hardwick Hall (5 miles) and Chatsworth House (14 miles).

You and the pup will have ample space to spread out and relax, with a lounge and drawing room on the ground floor, both with cosy wood burners to toast your toes and paws. The bright conservatory is a lovely spot to unwind with a book and, with direct access to the garden, it’s an ideal spot for the hound to set up camp. A vast kitchen/diner with a table to seat everyone in a garden room-style area, along with a utility room, complete the ground floor. The master bedroom, with its shower and toilet facilities can be found up a separate section of the staircase from the other two bedrooms and family bathroom. Rover will be in his element outside, with huge lawns to play on and mature borders to sniff and explore. There’s also a gorgeous patio for outdoor entertaining.
The area is awash with walking opportunities for you and your four-pawed pal, including at Grassmoor Country Park (3 miles). Enjoy gentle strolls and picnics in the large, open meadows, or join the traffic-free Five Pits Trail, which winds through the surrounding countryside. Heading into the Peak District National Park, you’ll soon reach the picturesque town of Bakewell (18 miles), where you can sample the famous pudding in one of the cute cafes, pick up delicious produce in the open-air market, and walk with the hound along the River Wye.
