Property code: OC-SCROFT

Set in a perfect waterside location in Polruan, this fantastic, reverse-level maisonette offers family groups and friends the opportunity to enjoy this beautiful coastal area with their canine companion by their side. With estuary and harbour views from the main rooms, this house is all about the wonderful waterfront position.

Step inside the light-filled, open-plan kitchen/diner and drink in the panoramic views over the estuary. Cook up a storm in the well-equipped kitchen, then share a meal with loved ones against an inspiring watery backdrop. The dining area, which has a Juliet balcony, also opens onto the private deck and seating area. With dual access from the comfortable lounge with its plush sofa seating, this is an ideal spot for a peaceful breakfast or evening sundowner watching the maritime activity throughout the day. Downstairs, three inviting bedrooms await, one with its own en-suite shower room and all with sumptuous beds topped with soft white linens. There’s also a family bathroom, stylish shower room and a bunk room for the children on this lower floor. Outside, a shared lawn offers plenty of space for a game of fetch and leads down to the river with steps to the water’s edge for Fido’s daily dunk.

Polruan''s position on a headland jutting out into the estuary meant that it once had great importance as a lookout point. Now, visitors can share the same commanding views looking out to sea and across to Fowey on the far bank. For a spectacular cliff-top walk to get tails wagging, strike out along the South West Coast Path for 2 miles to Lantic Bay, whose sweeping sands are open to four-legged friends year-round, with no seasonal restrictions. Hop on the foot ferry (which is also a paw ferry) over to Fowey and discover a former fishing town-cum-holiday hotspot popular with sailors and beachgoers alike. The town’s pretty streets are lined with cafes, gift shops, restaurants and pubs, in many of which a water bowl or doggie treat will be awaiting Rover’s arrival.

Great location (Polruan/Fowey), nice property with beautiful views, comfortable beds but road access is tricky and the nearest supermarkets arent close by (Bodmin, 30mn drive). Obviously the SW Coast bays and headlands are stunning for hikers, runners, and fans of the Salt Path (you may even spot Raynor on the ferry between Fowey and Polruan).

The key situation is ridiculous. There is only one key and no deadbolt. I contacted you and was advised that this was for cost reasons. If any member of the party wants to go out early or stay out late, the options are to leave the door unlocked, lock everyone else in or wake another person up. None of these are conducive to enjoyment. It is aRead moren entirely unnecessary situation. Hide

We had a fabulous week at Seacroft. It is a beautiful property with everything you could need provided for. Spotlessly clean, spacious and very tastefully decorated. The views are amazing, we spent hours on the outdoor terrace watching the boating activity. We had no problem with our very small dog but larger dogs would probably need a little more Read moreoutdoor space. We would most definitely stay here again without hesitation. Hide
