An elegant country home enveloped by lush gardens and set in the secluded village of Guestwick deep in the peaceful Norfolk countryside. This exquisite hideaway is the perfect base for group reunions or multigenerational gatherings, with up to three honorary furry members in tow. Soak in your tranquil surroundings with a scenic scamper through the bluebell-speckled forest trails at Foxley Wood (3 miles), before toasting with a glass of bubbly on the leafy patio while Fido snoozes in the sun.

This luxurious property is brimming with a refined rustic charm and boasts exposed brick walls, wooden beams, and crisp design details. Unclip harnesses and hang coats at the front door, then step into the open-plan heart of the home. Grab a drink then fire up the Smart TV with a crowd-pleasing movie or slide open the bi-fold doors and feel the balmy summer breeze drifting from the garden. In cooler months, kick up weary feet on the large sofa and crack open the chocolates as you and your worn-out pup bask in the heat of the crackling wood burner. Request the assistance of budding chefs to help with food prep in the beautiful farmhouse kitchen, bathed in the natural light from the skylight above. With dinner simmering on the stove, wedge open the patio doors and let Fido snuffle in the enclosed garden before treating him to a hearty holiday meal. Tuck into a casual supper at the kitchen table or set the large wooden feasting table in the diner for a more elaborate affair. Top off the evening with an al fresco nightcap on the patio and stargaze beneath the twinkling night sky. Choose from five thoughtfully styled bedrooms set across two floors – each styled with cosy soft furnishings. Dive into a morning spread perched on the breakfast patio or get lunch sizzling on the BBQ in the afternoon sun. Outdoor enthusiasts can rest easy knowing their gear is securely stored in the outbuilding.

Explore the charming town of Reepham (5 miles) and load up on local produce at the Wednesday morning market before swinging by the 17th-century pub that welcomes four-pawed patrons with a treat and a good ol’ scratch behind the ears. Sniff out the thriving wildlife as you bound or peddle along the lush off-road Marriot’s Way trail (6 miles), or venture to Norwich for a hit of culture and roam the sculpture park at the Sainsbury Centre for Visual Arts (21 miles).

An excellent cottage, with plenty of space for our party of seven adults and one baby. You just need to be aware that this is located in a very small hamlet, and all roads in are narrow single track unclassified ones, so unless you are comfortable driving on these and occasionally reversing to allow another vehicle to pass, it won't be for you. The White house fitted our requirements brilliantly; plenty of room, delightful garden and good enough weather to eat outside. We particularly liked having our own staircase and 'wing' so did not hear what time the grandchildren surfaced! The owners Jon & Kate live the other side of the field and when we needed a light bulb (having been unable to Read morelocate the correct type among the spares) Jon brought one in minutes! The grandchildren loved meeting the horses, but were not so keen on the plentiful plums we were encouraged to help ourselves to. We found the location convenient for the Broads, national trust type places and coast. A great place in all senses. Hide
