Have a ball on the coast with your furry friend and family in tow staying in the seaside town of Ilfracombe on the North Devon coast. From here there are miles of walkies on offer with the South West Coast Path (1 mile) being amongst the very best for rugged, far-reaching views and fantastic sticks to fetch along the way.
Cosy up together in the lounge with your pup at your feet as you admire the views over Ilfracombe’s harbour with a book in hand making the most of the spacious living area. When it’s time to dig into dinner, the kitchen/diner is fabulously furnished blending modern design with homely touches to create a social area that works for large groups. Up the first set stairs you’ll find two of the five bedrooms, both with en-suite shower rooms, including a twin room flooded with natural light from the large windows and a king-size bedroom. There’s also a well-equipped snug with a Smart TV and an Xbox for entertainment. On the second floor are three further king-size bedrooms, each elegantly styled and one with an en-suite shower room and the other with an en-suite bathroom. In addition, the top floor has a family bathroom and a utility room. At the front of the house is a wonderful sun terrace with fantastic views where those on four legs as well as two can soak up the scenery and relax.
It’s less than 400m from the harbour where you can hop aboard a sea safari which welcomes top dogs to explore the dramatic coastline and get a feel for this beautiful part of Devon. Back on land, Ilfracombe has a great selection of dog-friendly eateries to dine at, whether you’re looking for fine fish and chips, a celebratory feast or a spot of pub grub, you’ll find plenty on offer. Visit the Valley of the Rocks (20 miles) to get tails wagging on a mighty adventure along a stretch of the South West Coast Path, stopping off at Lynton and Lynmouth en route for a tasty treat to eat.
