This delightful cottage boasts a peaceful location in Tideswell. Sleeping four guests and one canine chum, the property makes a great base for couples and small families. The charming village of Tideswell is in the heart of the Peak District and is a great base for walkers and four-pawed explorers, with endless tracks and trails nearby and traditional paw-friendly pubs to refuel in afterwards. Further afield, enjoy doggy days out to Buxton and Bakewell (both within 8 miles).
The cottage sits on a quiet lane and a couple of steps lead to the front door. The property is full of character, with original features and country-cottage styling throughout. Prepare tasty dishes in the pretty kitchen/diner, to share together around the wooden table. After dinner, unwind in the cosy lounge to watch a film, with the hound stretched out in front of the wood burner. The two inviting bedrooms – a king-size and a double – are upstairs. The king-size bedroom has an en-suite shower room, and there’s also a stylish family bathroom. To the side of the cottage is a private patio, where Fido can stretch his legs and you can dine alfresco.
You’ll find plenty of walking routes to explore with the pup in and around Tideswell. Pathways lead you away from the village, through the beautiful limestone uplands, or head to the south of the village to explore the stunning nature reserve at Tideswell Dale. Chatsworth House (11 miles) is also a must for the itinerary. You and the woofer are welcome in both the historic garden and the 1000-acre parklands, which has a choice of waymarked trails to follow. The picturesque town of Bakewell is 8 miles away, with its bustling outdoor markets, great choice of eateries, riverside walks, and traffic-free Monsal Trail.
