Bring together your nearest and dearest for a memorable getaway in this luxurious, pet-friendly retreat in North Devon. The property is in the village of West Down and the surrounding area is a paradise for dog walkers, with the South West Coast Path 5 miles away, the sandy beach at Woolacombe within 5 miles, and the remote landscape of Exmoor National Park just 10 miles away. At the end of the day, relax in front of one of the wood burners, sip a glass of wine next to the fire pit, or revive weary limbs in the hot tub.

The period cottage boasts beamed ceilings and exposed stonework and has a fabulous mix of contemporary style and rustic charm. At the heart of the property is a spacious kitchen/diner, where you’ll find a country-style kitchen area with all the equipment and worktop space needed to cater for a large group. A long, farmhouse-style dining table is set under the window, and there’s also a little nook with comfortable seating arranged around a wood burner. This cosy spot is the ideal place to set up the dog bed. From here, move through to the impressive lounge, with its striking, beamed ceiling and wood burner set in an original inglenook fireplace. Relax here with family, friends, and your four-pawed pal, chatting about your day or watching a film on the Smart TV. A handy utility room completes the ground floor. When day turns to night, head upstairs to discover four delightful bedrooms, all with their own, unique style. One of the bedrooms has a sleek, en-suite shower room and there’s also a family bathroom on this level. Outside, a peaceful haven awaits in the leafy, enclosed garden. Enjoy BBQs together on the patio, whilst the children and hound play on the lawn. Toast marshmallows around the fire pit, before sinking into the bubbling hot tub under the stars. Please note, there is a raised pond in the garden, and children must be supervised at all times. The property has private parking for three cars.

West Down is a traditional Devon village with a 17th-century, woof-welcoming pub. The village is surrounded by rolling hills and quiet, country lanes, providing endless walking opportunities directly from your front door. You’ll be within easy reach of some of North Devon’s finest beaches, including Woolacombe (5 miles) and Saunton Sands (7 miles), both of which welcome four-pawed beachgoers all year. Further afield, the historic market town of Barnstaple is 10 miles away, with a good selection of shops, cafes, pubs, and restaurants.
