This one-bed, terraced property in Holt benefits from classic flintstone-cottage good looks outside, with trendy interiors that are both comfortable and contemporary. It’s the ideal place to retreat to as a couple – not forgetting your four-legged third wheel, naturally. De-stress in the light and airy open-plan living space or spend long evenings dining alfresco in the cute courtyard. Lead the way to adventure, as the Norfolk Coast Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty is on your doorstep with country and coastal villages and walkies.

Leave handy dog towels by the door as you enter the modern, open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner, with attractive and practical wooden flooring. Sink into the sofa in front of the cosy wood burner in its exposed red-brick chimney. Off to one side is a sleek, well-equipped kitchen, with a table for two and an external door behind them both, tucked slightly under the statement staircase. Upstairs, the sleeping quarters comprise one elegant king-size bedroom with an ornamental fireplace in the red-brick chimney but otherwise simple and light decor. Outside, your four-pawed friend will love to sit with you in the fully enclosed courtyard with furniture for dining alfresco.

Go mutts buying treats from the quirky independent shops and gallery in the alleyways of Holt, admiring its gorgeous Georgian architecture as you mooch with your pooch. Or hop on the Poppy Line for a steam train ride that your canine friend can enjoy too. Leave no stick unfetched in the 100-acre mixed woodland at Holt Country Park (1 mile). Depending on the time of year, Blakeney (5.5 miles) offers boat trips to see grey seals, but do check dog restrictions. Treat yourself to fish and chips or a Cromer crab dinner in Cromer (10 miles), after having a ball with your VIPs (very important pups!) on the beach.

This is a very nice property in a fabulous location - close to Holt High street but nice & quiet, the cottage is small but the space has been well used, although our dog did struggle with the open staircase. Heating & hot water were plentiful - very important during our chilly November stay!

Lovely cottage, very modern and well equipped. In a great location. Lovely courtyard garden to have morning coffee and come back to after day out with a glass of wine. Most enjoyable stay with all you need on the doorstep. Lovely shops, pubs and plenty of choice to eat out if wanted. Looking forward to going again in the future

Lovely cottage ideally located in Holt close to shops, eateries and public transport. It is small but suited the 2 of us perfectly. Nicely renovated inside & very clean. The en suite bathroom has a large shower cubicle with rainfall shower; very nice. When we arrived there was a welcome basket awaiting us containing some lovely Norfolk products: biRead morescuits, jam, apple juice & popcorn. Hide

Perfect location for Holt. Very small living space, but adequate. Very basic. Would benefit from a deep clean. The parking space was very welcome.

We had a lovely week in Holt, and certainly wish to return to 3 Starboard at some time in the future. Just two negatives: we would have appreciated more detailed instructions on how to operate the central heating, as we are not familiar with Hive. (We are now!) Secondly, we feel that the bin store is a problem: although the car parked by the doRead moreors left plenty of room to open the doors, this didn't leave enough room for the bin men to collect the rubbish which was piling up and getting rather smelly. A lovely renovated cottage in the centre of Holt. Fittings were of a high standard and it was clear that the owner had used local shops when buying kitchen equipment. Big fan of supporting local. Property was fine but cold stone floor could have used some rugs. Original choice of property withdrawn the day after I paid the balance was frankly unacceptable. Refund not paid in accordance with my instructions.

We very much enjoyed our stay at 3 Starboard. It was clean, warm, well-appointed and the location was excellent for our purposes. On a practical note we had to go out and buy jcloths; washing up brush and dishwasher tablets. It was not until the end of our stay when we were looking for the pIastic bags for the dirty linen that we found a small Read moreblack sealed box without label under the sink with these items in it. It would have been helpful to have the black box clearly marked and signalled in the information folder. For winter guests, blinds on the back door and a rug would be desirable extras. Hide
