This charming pet-friendly cottage is located in the heart of Holt, a delightful Georgian town perched on the edge of the Norfolk Coast Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB). It offers a tasteful interior and a sweet courtyard for enjoying your morning coffee in the fresh air. Within 0.5 miles of your home, you’ll have shops, dog-friendly pubs and cafes to explore with your dog in tow. When it’s time for a run-around, take your furry friend Holt Country Park (1 mile), a sprawling 100-acre woodland area with ever-changing scenery and scenic trails. The cottage, with one double bedroom and a single, is ideal for a couple or a small family.

You’ll enter into a small conservatory that’s handy for leaving walking boots and brushing off dusty paws. The open-plan living area is bathed in natural light, its white walls and coastal-themed artwork creating an uplifting atmosphere. Sink into the L-shaped sofa and pop on the Smart TV for a quiet night in, as your pet sprawls out on the rug. In the well-equipped kitchen, cook up yummy dinners using local produce – or if you’re not in the mood for cooking, why not order in a takeaway from one of Holt’s many eateries? The traditional Norfolk steep winding staircase leads to the sleeping quarters upstairs.

In the AONB, you’ll find dog-friendly beaches at Weybourne and Salthouse (both 4 miles) as well as mile upon mile of doggie-pleasing trails through woodland, sand dunes and salt marshes. If you fancy experiencing the countryside from the comfort of a steam train, head to Holt rail station (1 mile) and pick up a service towards the traditional seaside town of Sheringham (6 miles). Cromer (8 miles) is another wonderful option for a day out.

The cottage was lovely but if youre not sure footed the stairs are not ideal as the treads are narrower than standard. Having to park in the public car park was not a big problem but the agency said it was 35 for the week - its actually 47. We werent in high season but I would say if you do buy the ticket for the week be prepared to struggle to getRead more a parking space even if you have got the prepaid ticket. Hide

Had a wonderful stay at Star Cottage, absolutely perfect, clean and comfortable. The position of the cottage couldnt have been better, right on the doorstep of beautiful Holt, full of independent shops and amazing eateries. So many places to explore in the surrounding area too, we will be back for more and Star Cottage was just perfect.

Perfect location, clean, not suitable for infants (no where for travel cot other then main bedroom which is a squeeze). Great place for a cosy few nights away and has everything you need.

The cottage was in an excellent location within walking distance of the main shops, restaurants and cafes which is fine if you haven't got a car as parking is a bit of an issue. However the parking is quite cheap (8.50 for 24 hours) which was a 4-5 minute walk from the cottage. There is also free parking on some of the side roads after 6pm in the eRead morevenings and all day Sunday. The property had excellent facilities - everything we would expect to use in our short stay including a washing machine, hoover and cleaning products which were handy. The sofa can pull out to make a bed which is comfortable for movie nights however the TV is not a Smart tv so there is no Netflix for example but this matter can be solved if you bring your own laptop or tablet. It was also useful to have an extra freezer in the cupboard which was very useful for us. Hide
