Property code: OC-BBROTT

Set in the heart of historic Rottingdean, a stone’s throw from the beach, this traditional stone cottage is the ideal seaside retreat. Bursting with character, this property offers a cosy and welcoming base for families, friends and one well-behaved pup. The shops, pubs and restaurants of the High Street are on your doorstep, while the location offers plenty of opportunities for countryside and coastal walks, guaranteed to set tails wagging.

Arranged over three storeys, the cottage blends original features with contemporary style, while the private, enclosed garden offers that all-important outside space. Put your feet up after walkies in the cosy lounge, while your beloved hound snoozes in front of the open fire. Prepare delicious home-cooked meals and some tasty treats for your canine companion in the charming kitchen, and gather your pack around the dining table to feast together. There’s a handy wine fridge in the basement along with laundry facilities, and a BBQ in the back garden to make the most of warmer weather. The four bedrooms are divided over the first and second floors, separated by cottage-style stairs, with a twin and king-size room on the first floor, and a mezzanine king-size room on the top floor that leads to a double bedroom.

If you don’t fancy cooking at home, take your pick of pubs where friendly locals will welcome you and your four-legged friend with delicious food for the entire pack. Keen walkers are spoilt for choice with coastal routes along the Undercliff Path to Brighton, and to Saltdean and beyond in the opposite direction (though note that some beaches have dog restrictions at certain times of the year). The centre of Brighton is only around 4 miles away, with plenty of shops, eateries, attractions and seaside fun to be enjoyed.

Location was useful for us visiting relatives in the area. The cottage is centrally placed for shops, pub and cafes. Well equipped and clean. Steep stairs inside as noted in particulars; good sized comfortable bedrooms. Front is very close to High Street road so some noise. Helpful to download car park app before arrival as cannot pay by cash oRead morer card on machines at car park. Short stay limited to 3 hours a day with charging period 8 am to 8 pm. Hide

We were surprised at the lack of flexibility on arrival and check out times. My family were travelling from the North of England with an 80 year old and heavily pregnant lady. To then be told 'do not turn up before 4pm' was surprising when the previous occupant would have checked out at 10am!! It's a lot of money for such a reduced stay. Also for aRead more house accommodating 6 we were surprised that there was only 1 toilet/bathroom ....... not ideal when advertising accommodation for 6 Hide

We've had the most wonderful week, we usually stay in Brighton but will definitely stay in Rottingdean again - perfect for commuting in, lovely beach, "village feel" and gorgeous eateries locally! Our spaniel, Mabel, LOVED the windmill walk and the water! Thank you for the use of your beautiful, quirky and homely cottage xxx

The property was in very good condition and the owners thought of every conceivable thing that we might need, including bicycles and a barbecue grill. The location was extremely convenient since it was right in the middle of Rottingdean. We arrived on the hottest day ever in England but the cross ventilation and fans quickly helped make the houseRead more comfortable. Being old the the cottage had a few quirks, particularly the low door lintels. The wounds have just about healed up now! Hide
