Perfectly combining original features with some fetching contemporary touches, this romantic bolthole is the ultimate coastal retreat, boasting spectacular ocean views and is perfectly placed to explore the Cornish art and foodie mecca with your four-pawed companion.

After a long walkies, stop chasing your tail for a moment and relax on the quaint window seat in the open-plan ground floor of this traditional cottage with your four-pawed pal curled up on your lap; as the cooler evening air settles, fire up the wood burner to keep toes and paws toasty. Your pup can doze on the hearth as you whip up a delicious meal in the kitchen to plan tomorrow’s walkies over dinner seated around the dining table. When bedtime calls, lead the way upstairs to tuck your pup into their special blanket beside you in the charming double bedroom that features fantastic ocean views that’ll send you to sleep with your tails wagging. Outside, little paws can soak up some sunshine in the rear enclosed courtyard as you dine alfresco. There’s also a front patio that features fetching views of the nearby harbour.

From art galleries to award-winning restaurants, you’ll have a ball exploring the seaside town of St. Ives with your canine companion, sniffing out the best local produce the South West has to offer. Take the lead to Porthminster Beach less than a mile away where your pup will go mutts bounding through the waves as you stop chasing your tail for a moment and relax in one of the beach pods available to hire. In the shadow of the Tate St. Ives gallery, from Porthmeor Beach (1 mile) you can join up with the South West Coast Path to sniff out plenty of sticks to fetch around the headlands of Carrick Du and Clodgy Point.

My husband and I really enjoyed our stay at Farr Cottage. The cottage itself is cosy and charming and in an excellent location. It has everything required for a short stay - from utensils to scrabble! the cottage was lovely and clean and has it's own parking space. It wasn't cold enough for us to use the fire, so we will definitely be back to visitRead more again! Hide

The low score for "equipment" reflects a) that wi-fi is hopeless - so tv isn't 'smart' and mobile ability is severely limited and b) whilst the dimensions of the parking space are correct, if the adjacent space (3) is occupied, it requires either reversing into the space from the main road or reversing out of it onto the main road. The proximity ofRead more a blind bend makes either manoeuvre potentially dangerous. During our visit (out of season) the issue was happily resolved by the people at the guest house kindly letting us use one of their spaces. Hide
