One of the bedrooms has its own en-suite bathroom, and there is a family bathroom too, so there is no need to wait to soak tired legs after a day of adventure. The entirety of the second floor is given over to a fantastic open-plan living space which offers spectacular river views seen through several Velux windows which allow natural light to flood in. Relax on the comfortable sofa seating or recline on one of the armchairs strategically placed next to the window to make the most of the lovely views. Outside is a small, enclosed courtyard garden for Fido to explore, which is the perfect spot for a BBQ on a warm summer evening.
Full of multicoloured cottages perched on the hillsides leading down to the sea, the little fishing town of Fowey has lots to offer. The town’s pretty streets are lined with cafes, gift shops, restaurants and pubs, in many of which a water bowl or doggie treat will be awaiting Rover’s arrival. Take a stroll of 1 mile through the town to beautiful Readymoney Cove for golden sands and safe swimming, but be aware there is a seasonal dog restriction at Readymoney Cove in July and August between 10am and 6pm. Alternatively, take the foot ferry to Polruan and strike out along the South West Coast Path for 2 miles to Lantic Bay, whose sweeping sands are open to four-legged friends year-round, with no seasonal restrictions. Fowey lies within one of the many Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty in Cornwall, and with its tidal creeks, rolling fields and rugged cliffs to explore, you and your canine companion will want to return again and again.
