A beautifully remodelled Garde II listed bar conversion enveloped by lush woodlands and the rolling Loose Valley countryside, this stylish rural gem is ideal for a family or group of friends seeking a restorative retreat with their four-pawed pal. Curious companions can sniff out the wonders of the medieval Bodium Castle parkland and dive into an al fresco doggy ice cream in the courtyard, before resting up under the secluded wooden pergola and basking in the afternoon sunshine.

Set on the grounds of the owner’s oast house, this sleek property blends traditional charm with contemporary clean lines and calming stone, beige, and white hues. Dry off soggy pups with a fluffy towel then step up into the open plan heart of the home with a striking bespoke staircase and underfloor heating to warm chilly paws and toes. Sink onto the sofa with a drink and fire up the Smart TV while your canine stretches his legs on the plush carpet or pad through to the light-dappled kitchen/diner. Perch at the breakfast bench with some nibbles and flick through your holiday pictures while the resident chef cooks up a storm in the spacious shaker kitchen. Retreat upstairs to the mezzanine landing to find the elegant en-suite bedrooms with rustic wooden beam features, consisting of an adaptable king/twin and a king. Energetic pups can let off some steam with zoomies in the lush walled garden while the humans sip their morning coffees under the pergola.

Grab the lead and bound through the sprawling 450 acres of land at Mote Park, 2.5 miles, where your waggy-tailed pal can bound along the woodland paths, splash through the lake, and dig through leaves. Sniff out the 13th-century pub in Hollingbourne, 9 miles, welcoming four-legged patrons, or venture to the popular seaside town of Whitstable, 29 miles, and feel the wind in your fur with a blustery stroll along the shingly shores of West Beach.

The property was finished to a high standard with all equipment provided for a comfortable stay. The immediate area offered us and our 2 energetic dogs lots of excellent walking routes with no need to drive out to find somewhere suitable. Really good stay at Salt Barn. The barn was perfect for two of us and a dog. Lovely and peaceful, and although roomy, felt warm and cosy. The beds and pillows were perfect, had some of the best sleep for ages, and woke up pain free. Nice welcome package, loved the apple juice and biscuits particularly! Mandy and Brett were lovely hosts, and felt able to ask if we needed anything. ( We didn't) The dog loved the garden, and relaxed immediately. Kent is a beautiful county. Thanks Mandy :) Hide

We had a wonderful two-week stay at Salts Barn in Loose. The cottage leaves nothing to be desired, with its pleasant living room, a beautiful and functional kitchen, and two bedrooms, each with its own bathroom with a shower. Loose is a great base for exploring the beautiful Kent countryside. Many thanks to our landlords, Mandy and Brett.

This lovely barn was converted only three years ago to a high standard all fixtures and fittings are tasteful and comfortable. The owners are extremely nice and had provided lots of treats for us and our dogs too. The private garden is also well kitted out with garden furniture and is well kept too. I cannot praise it highly enough. There are numRead moreerous walks in lovely countryside. The nearest Pub the Checkers is only a short walk away and serves very nice food which is discounted for guests staying at the barn. All the people we met in the area were all so friendly and helpful too. I think this was the best holiday let we have ever stayed in. Hide
