This luxurious yet quaint stone-built cottage sits in the bustling fishing port of Seahouses on the Northumbrian coast. Sleeping four people over two bedrooms and welcoming two canine companions, it’s perfect for romantic couples or small groups who want to take some spectacular coastal walks with their pups by their side. You’ll love dining alfresco in the garden and your pups will adore stretching out in front of the wood burner each evening.

Step inside this terraced cottage and you’ll find an irresistibly-cosy lounge/dining area. Sink into a sofa and make yourself at home by the wood burner before you head to the bright, contemporary kitchen to put your culinary skills to the test. This lovely space features original wood beams and is equipped with everything you need to whip up a fabulous feast. Enjoy an intimate meal in the dining area or head outside and dine al fresco in the shared courtyard garden. After dinner, pour yourself a glass of something cool and crisp and watch the stars come out, or head back in to the lounge area to watch a movie while your pups snooze by the wood burner. When it’s time for bed, you’ll find two lovely bedrooms on the first floor.

Expect tails to wag, because your pups are welcome at both Seahouses Beach (0.5 miles) and Seahouses South Beach (0.5 miles) all year round. A little further afield, they can also enjoy a run at Bamburgh Beach (3.5 miles) – a very special spot where a breathtaking castle dominates the skyline. Alternatively, head down to the harbour (0.5 miles) and take your pups on a boat trip to the Farne Islands. Dogs aren’t allowed at the bird sanctuaries on the National Trust islands, but the boat crew will look after them until you return.

Excellent cottage, with excellent facilities, in a wonderful seaside village. Extremely clean, absolutely spotless. Superb beds, and the biggest bath Ive ever seen. Olympic sized in fact! We wouldnt hesitate to return, and cannot recommend highly enough.

This is genuinely a lovely cottage which I'm sad to see is up for sale; this is our second stay here. There are a few improvements I'd make, such as more cutlery and a better selection of glasses and oven dishes, but these are really minor details, and if not heeded would not spoil your stay. The location is FABULOUS but comes with a draw back overRead more the parking, some of which was most, most inconsiderate from others who were also on holiday. I think a "please leave space for residents of Samphire Cottage" sign, in the window, would not go a miss, although equally that would not be mandatory to abide by, but it really has been quite tricky at times. Would I stay here again? Yes, in a heartbeat. Is there room for improvement? I do think so. I do hope that any sale of this property still allows for a holiday let. It's genuinely lovely, and superbly placed, and we would absolutely go back. The communication from Original Cottages was also very good, but please allow for a 10:30 vacation of the property? Hide

Lovely cottage. Great location. Good places for food around to take dogs. Just to note there is no where to let dog out for toilet without going with them on lead to just bear in mind, it is enclosed yard but it is shared and signs of no dogs in some areas of it. The pub next to the property can be a little noisy till midnight at a weekend but not Read moredreadful. Good value for money. Tasteful decor which is homely and well equipped. You should have stated that dogs were not allowed in the bedrooms. Dogs were not free. You have a booking fee . The cottage had no instructions for the hob. The towel rail was switched on in the bedroom should have been advised. There was no means of protecting the polished table from hot plates. Most other properties had no parking signs outside. Seahouses is very central for touring the area, and the main place for boat tours to the Islands. nearbye a wonderful fish shop which had fresh fish every day, and in the village great pubs.

The overall quality of the interior was high, however the utensils in the kitchen were very poor quality and let the overall standard of the cottage down. The bathroom was great but the water ran cold for 2 days and had very low pressure so unable to wash hair or use, what was a great bath.

We had a lovely stay and the cottage was well equipped and very clean and comfortable. The location was perfect and we would happily stay again. Just a couple of observations; an information pack would be helpful to advise how to use heaters in the cottage and how to handle the bins/waste etc as there was a bit of guess work involved. Also the wateRead morer pressure was very low in kitchen and bathroom sinks and enough dishwasher tablets for length of stay would be helpful. Minor issues though. Hide
