Enjoy a stay at this exquisite cottage, tucked away in the coastal village of Cley-next-the-Sea, in an area of North Norfolk known for its wildlife and walking. Sleeping four guests, the two-bedroom abode has a courtyard and enclosed rear garden, and is well positioned for the village shops and eateries. Holt is 4 miles away, with its bustling streets and hidden yards of various independent outlets. Walk 1 mile out across the salt marshes to reach Cley’s shingle beach or drive 10 miles along the picturesque coast to the beautiful, sandy beach at Wells-next-the-Sea. Birdwatchers will appreciate the many hides surrounding Cley and the visitor centre just over 0.5 miles out of the village.

Make your way into this enticing cottage and find yourselves in an inviting lounge, with oak floor, soft seating and a host of technology for you and your party to enjoy, including a Smart TV, with built-in Chromecast, Apple Airplay and Disney+, a Blu-ray player, a CD/Bluetooth/DAB radio and USB charging sockets. Open the door in here on to the garden whenever the weather is warm so everyone can come in and out as they please. Head through to the kitchen/diner to cook delicious meals with the array of Norfolk produce you can buy in Cley and find it is equipped with a double oven, electric hob, fridge/freezer, dishwasher and microwave. There is a dining table in here, with both chairs and a settle bench seat to sit on, plus a Bluetooth/DAB radio and a stable door so you can bring in a fresh breeze. There is also a utility cupboard with a washing machine. At the end of each day, make your way carefully up the Norfolk winder staircase, which twists and has narrow treads, to enjoy a good night’s sleep in either the twin bedroom or the double. The family bathroom with a shower and separate bath and WC is also up here.

Enjoy the tranquillity of the enclosed, lawn garden at this cottage and find you also have a small courtyard to the side of the property. We always enjoy staying in the cottage, and the welcome hamper is always a pleasure to see. It was a really nice surprise to see the new bathroom layout to.

Townyard cottage is a lovely, quiet and secluded property.It is clean nicely decorated and very well equipped.We have stayed in a number of properties in Cley over the years and this one rates highly.

A lovely, comfortable and clean cottage close to the centre of Cley. So handy to have a parking space and the garden is very pretty as well as being enclosed. We received a very generous welcome pack from the local deli. The bed linen and towels are of good quality and the beds were quite comfortable. On the whole the property was ok however there were a few issues the bottom (large )oven wasnt working the single beds werent very comfortable the heating was preset and we didnt find it adequate or easy to change . It was raining a lot of the time and we couldnt dry our clothes so it felt a bit damp. Living room was good with good TV and packageRead mores and very comfortable with great throws. Hide

Beautiful, cosy and clean cottage in a lovely location. It just lost one point because it would have been good to have things like toilet cleaner and containers for taking out packed lunches/storing leftover food, and sharper knives. I bought some cleaner and containers and left them there for the next person. Booking and everything else was fab, Read moreincluding sorting out the smoke alarm which went off two mornings at 6.15am! Hide

The shower head doesnt fit so the shower experience was poor ! We also noticed the fridge wasnt very cold so we lowered the temperature and the fridge started to leak . It needs to be fixed ! Apart from that everything was very good . The double bed was very comfy . Would you be able to tell us what make the mattress is ? Thanks ??

It was a comfortable property overall with good access for parking and in a good location. The kitchen diner was a little cluttered especially if there had been 4 guests. The key safe was difficult to unlock in the dark when we arrived as it was located where there is no lighting.
