Property code: OC-BBWAND

Nestled in a tranquil cul-de-sac in the historic village of Ovingdean, this spacious property offers a relaxing getaway for friends and family with superb views over the South Downs National Park. Sleeping up to six people and one lucky pup, this holiday home offers flexible sleeping arrangements, plenty of space for relaxing and entertaining, and an enclosed garden with a BBQ and an outdoor dining table.

Owing to its location on a hill, this property is laid out over three floors and approached down a steep driveway. Inside, it’s bright and airy with lots of natural light, and is comfortably fitted throughout. Gather your pack in the spacious lounge to relax and chat about your day, admiring the views from the balcony on a sunny day or snuggled around the wood burner on a chilly evening. Rustle up family favourites and some tasty treats for Fido in the spacious and well-equipped kitchen and take your pic of dining options, with two tables seating six inside and another on the balcony. Alternatively fire up the BBQ and make the most of warmer weather while your dog potters around the garden. Then, enjoy a rejuvenating night’s sleep in the three relaxing bedrooms (please note the zip-and-link bed will be made up as a super-king-size unless otherwise requested).

Set within the South Downs National Park, it’s easy to grab a ball and lead the way to adventure in the morning, whether you want to explore the surrounding countryside or head down to Ovingdean beach (1.2 miles), which is dog friendly year round. While the property offers peace and tranquillity, it’s around 4.5 miles by car or less than 4 miles on foot into the centre of Brighton, where you can explore the dog-friendly shops, cafes and boutiques, have a picnic in the gardens of the Brighton Pavilion, and wander along the seafront.

  • 3 bedrooms - 1 super-king (can be made into a twin on request), 1 king size, 1 double

A really lovely property that worked well for our family & dog. Well equipped in all aspects and very large comfy beds. Nice to have lots of different options for sitting outside, depending whether we wanted sun or shade (and it was very warm when we stayed).

This property is in a good location and is spacious. It has a very steep drive which makes parking challenging. It has a comfortable lounge and spacious kitchen, although the kitchen only has a basic selection of crockery and glasses - all a bit tired and breakages clearly dont get replaced so we were struggling for tumblers. It smelt rather mustRead morey on arrival and clearly suffers from damp due to being locked up with no vented windows when not in use. Response from holidaycottages.co.uk: Thank you for your review. We can confirm that we will discuss this with the owner. Hide

A very comfortable accommodation, very clean but there was a faint smell of dog in the lounge. Response from holidaycottages.co.uk: Thank you for your review. We'll investigate this right away to make sure everything's in place for the next guest.

This is a lovely, comfortable property with everything you need in the kitchen, warm and nice comfy sofas and beds. Though the driveway is steep (as forewarned) we found it usable but there is also plenty of on street parking. Good location for going into Brighton or to Lewes or the downs.

We had a lovely stay at Sandpipers which was a great location for a larger family visiting Brighton. With a few tweaks this good property could be great. We stayed during a heatwave and found it very difficult to sleep in the stuffy upstairs bedroom and really needed a way to cool it down e.g. fans. There is a small sky light which helps a little wRead moreith ventilation but as it is partially over the bed we also got rained on during the night on occasion! The area is quite hilly and the drive down to the house is steep (hence we didn't even try to park on it) so not suitable for some guests with mobility issues. Ovingdean however is lovely and peaceful and a great location for walks above Brighton and into Woodingdean with some lovely views to take in. Hide

A lovely home from home with easy access by road to Brighton. Two good sized double bedrooms downstairs and a third smaller double upstairs which is adjacent to the front door. The upstairs was naturally warm but downstairs was cooler. The kitchen and lounge were well furnished and of a very good standard.
