Retreat to Porthleven, and this bright and breezy dormer bungalow with a lovely enclosed garden and sea views. Get a closer look using the binoculars in the sunny conservatory. Best of all, it’s pet-friendly so your faithful four-legged companion can come too. The village, harbour and beach are all within a 0.5-mile stroll, so that’s walkies sorted. This is a great property offering spacious accommodation for a family or friends in a perfect location for exploring both this village and more of the rugged Cornish coastline.
Most of the accommodation here is on the ground floor. There’s a light-filled lounge/diner with a wood burner, comfortable seating and a dining table all taking advantage of the partial sea views through big bay windows. Practical and attractive wooden floors run throughout – great for hot hounds! The modern kitchen has all you’ll need for self-catering days and there’s room for two or more chefs. The window-lined sunroom is ideal for some quiet time or for serious nature watching. One twin (zip-and-link beds can become a king-size upon request) and one single bedroom share the family bathroom downstairs, while an en-suite king-size is upstairs. All three bedrooms have exposed floorboards, calming decor and fun nautical touches. The charming garden isn’t massive but has all you’ll need with a lawn, furnished patio, bench and built-in BBQ for those long holiday evenings.
Study the tide times before heading to Saint Michael’s Mount (9 miles) as you don’t want to get cut off by the rising waters! All along this coastline are wonderful beaches and coves so you can stop where the fancy takes you (or when Fido needs a comfort break!). There’s lots to do and see in Porthleven itself with shops, pubs, eaters, galleries as well as fishing trips from the harbour.
