This beautiful old stone barn in West Down has been thoughtfully designed and tastefully converted into a fabulous six-bedroom holiday property benefiting from many accessible adaptations for wheelchair users and those with mobility issues. So, it suits an extended, multi-generational family group or just friends and up to four dogs are invited too. There’s a hot tub, play park and a private lake with a BBQ area on-site or head out to tour the North Devon Coast and Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
Suitable for disabled and non-disabled guests, full disability facilities are provided throughout including a lift and fully accessible wet room. All rooms are wheelchair accessible. The swim spa is also fully available to those with disabilities. You’ll feel catapulted back in time in the impressive Great Hall, a vast vaulted space complete with oak buttresses, stone floor and a large inglenook now housing a log burner around which is arranged comfortable seating. Let sleeping dogs lie here after a hard day! There’s another, small snug room if that’s too grand or you want to watch TV. There’s room to manoeuvre in the generous kitchen/diner, just right for communal cooking efforts to eat at the big dining table for 12. All six bedrooms – three king-size and three twin bedrooms – have lovely oak doors and flooring. Outside there’s a furnished courtyard, large field with a private lake that’s great for canine capers and a heated spa pool and hot tub.
This large house is set amid farmland and beautiful countryside. Many of North Devon’s beaches are within easy striking distance for day trips or beach hopping. Woolacombe (7 miles), Saunton Sands (10.5 miles) and Croyde (9 miles) are all popular beaches with walkers and surfers alike, making great people-watching. Do check for seasonal dog restrictions, however.
