Take your pup for long walks through the grounds of a grand country house when you stay with him at a property set within the mansion’s former coach house. Sleeping four people, this dog-friendly, Derbyshire retreat has two bedrooms and a patio where you and your furry chum can bask in the sunshine after days out. Situated near Chinley, 2 miles from Chapel-en-le-Frith, the gorgeous conversion is the same distance from the magnificent Peak District National Park, where you can stretch furry legs as you follow footpaths and trails through beautiful scenery.
Wander inside the inviting abode, which has underfloor heating, to discover a welcoming lounge, where you can fire up the wood burner on cooler days and settle down with your furry friend in its cosy glow. Watch TV, listen to music or simply give your happy hound the love and attention he deserves before you head through to the kitchen/diner to prepare everyone’s dinner. Also downstairs is a WC. The beautiful double bedrooms, one of which has a Juliet balcony and en-suite bathroom, and the other with an en-suite shower room, are both upstairs. Take your contented canine for a stroll around the wooded grounds on warm mornings. Light the BBQ outside on balmy evenings to grill supper out in the fresh air. There is private parking on site.
Pick up the dog lead, call your pet and head 1.5 miles to the Bugsworth Basin, on the Peak Forest Canal, at Buxworth. From here stroll alongside the water and through the valley of the Black Brook. Venture into the national park for more challenging outings taking in beauty spots. Pick up the long-distance Pennine Way, 10 miles from your holiday home, and follow it for a section near scenic Jacob’s Ladder, in the Hope Valley, 10 miles away.
