Property code: OC-CIDE

If you are looking for a home where both your children’s needs and your dog’s needs are catered for equally, this property manages to do so easily. It has space for a small family or group of friends, and benefits from being close to plenty of walks in Exmoor National Park that will keep Fido’s nose happy for hours on end.

The property itself is part of a terrace, set over two floors, situated on a farm. It means from the moment you arrive, there’s so much to see for humans (and to sniff out for dogs). The house is completed to a high standard throughout with underfloor heating helping to keep everyone warm and paws very happy. Several features help set this holiday home apart – original beams and the turning staircase, to name just two. The lounge area is vast thanks to being double-height and has lots of comfortable seating for relaxing. The kitchen has a shaker-style finish with a spacious dining area. The ground floor is completed with a WC. Upstairs are the bedrooms - a double and a twin, both of which benefit from their own en-suite shower room. While the house shares a utility room with the rest of the terrace, it has its own private patio area with garden furniture, which looks out over a lawn garden and a children’s play area. There’s also a shared hot tub which has stunning views over the countryside.

The property is based within the hamlet of Cove, but the town of Bampton is just 3 miles away and Tiverton, which is a bit bigger again, is 5 miles distant. While they have everything that you would want in a town - shops, pubs and restaurants - the property’s rural location is what many guests come for. Especially dogs who happily spend their time on Exmoor.

Fabulous property, location was great, very quiet location. Very clean inside and all the essential equipment for our holiday. Sofa was large enough for 3 people to sit comfortably and the tub chair was also comfortable. Beds were comfortable and en-suite shower room large and very clean. Outside the gardens were colourful and well maintained aRead morend the hot tub was excellent. Cottage was in close proximity to many beaches. Clovelly was an hour away, good retail park near Bideford. Two pub restaurants nearby, The Exeter Inn in Brampton and The Anchor in Exebridge, both serving excellent food at reasonable prices and both dog friendly. Would stay here again in the near future as our holiday was so enjoyable. Hide

The Cider Pound is very clean, modern and well equipped. There is ample space and the accommodation is furnished very comfortably. We would recommend anyone to stay there. The cottage was a rare treat, nestled in beautiful countryside it was so relaxing and tranquil with an abundance of amazing wildlife. Gilbert, Carol, Aubrey and family were eRead morexcellent hosts. They were always on hand if you needed them and nothing was too much trouble. We had some superb chats and was given sound advice on the area, eateries and places of interest. North Devon's marvellous beaches, picturesque villages and moors were in easy reach of the farm, although some country lanes could be quite narrow in places. It was a joy to return 'home' to The Cider Pound after a busy day sightseeing. Evenings could be spent soaking in the hot tub overlooking rolling hills, whilst the sun sets on glorious countryside, absolute heaven. Highly recommend a these stunning cottages. I stayed at Cider Pound with my two young boys and had a great time. The quality of the accommodation and furniture was fantastic. The grounds, hot tub and trampoline were also a great addition to just enjoy some play time. It is single track road access but is worth it for the isolation and views. We chose it for a central location, near to TivertRead moreon, with lots of similar drive times to multiple beaches. It didnt disappointment and the hosts were friendly, engaging and helpful. Hide

The photos of the gorgeous barn and surroundings are very accurate but they can not do justice to the incredible views and wonderfully relaxed atmosphere on the farm. The owners are an absolute delight, especially Gilbert who was such a star. Having the hot tub maintained so well was such a treat. There are some stunning walks not far away and ifRead more castles and national trust parkland are your thing then you are in for a treat as they are literally on your doorstep. We discovered a fabulous pub in a pretty village with quintessential thatched roofs 35 mins drive away called The Agricultural Inn. It is definitely worth a visit. I would love to book one of the barns again in the not too distant future. The furnishings and equipment are all excellent, so clean and if good quality. I was so impressed with the holiday and have described it as magical. Hide

Cider Pound is a lovely cottage located on the working Marsdens Farm amidst some of the most amazing scenery. There are amenities for children and a hot tub as an added bonus. The farm is close to all the coast and everywhere is within easy reach. The owners are very friendly, helpful and nothing is too much trouble. Well worth a visit.
