Savour being close to shops and dog-friendly eateries as well as great walks and beauty spots when you stay at this group holiday home in the Peak District that welcomes pups. Situated in Tideswell, the four-bedroom stone retreat sleeps eight guests, making it a great choice for a large family group or even two families together wishing to bring a furry friend along.

Open the front door and take a step up to wander inside this welcoming abode. Find yourselves in a light-filled lounge, with plenty of space for your cheerful chum to pad about and explore while you lay a fire in the wood burner to relax beside later on. There is also room in here for everyone to play games together or watch the Smart TV. Head further inside to find the dining room, where you can gather for celebratory meals and the kitchen where you can cater for all members of your party, including those with four legs. Give your contented canine a last cuddle before bed then climb the open-tread staircase up to the king-size bedroom, the double or the twin. There is also a bunk bedroom up here. All the bedrooms have en-suite bath or shower rooms. During the summer months, enjoy the last warmth of the day out in the courtyard, with a glass of wine in your hand and your faithful friend at your feet. Parking is on the street, subject to availability.

Pull on your hiking boots and head just 1.5 miles down to Miller’s Dale to pick up the Monsal Trail. Stretch furry legs with a walk along this traffic-free route which runs along the former Midland Railway line for 8.5 miles. From Miller’s Dale you can also follow a 3-mile, circular walk that takes in the Chee Dale stepping stones.

A great location for exploring the central and southern Peak District. Tideswell is just big enough to have a choice of places to eat out but small enough to be an authentic Derbyshire village. The house itself is well fitted out with the bedrooms cleverly fitted with individual shower/bathrooms. We spent little time in the house which was tidy andRead more superficially clean but thought it would benefit from an occasional deep clean. There were lots of Board games and a large TV; a music system would have enhanced the entertainment for those who spent more time in the house. But overall, the house was lovely and we would happily recommend it to anyone. Hide

The cottage was not as clean as it could have been, it was very dusty and we had two people who had to use their inhalers while away. The photos are deceptive, they make the bedrooms look bigger than they are. One of the rooms has no cupboard to hand clothes and so we lived out of a suitcase the whole week.

We all really enjoyed our stay at Christmas. The only thing missing is a downstairs toilet and with younger children we felt the stairs would have been safer carpeted.
