Lose yourselves in the natural beauty of the Peak District returning afterwards to the cosy welcome of this canine-friendly cottage in Great Hucklow. Sleeping four guests, the two-bedroom, stone retreat offers a warm welcome to four-legged visitors and their owners. With a wood burner to bask beside and a small patio for enjoying the fresh air, this inviting abode is a perfect base for hounds and their humans.

Open the front door and let your cheerful chum pad into the characterful lounge/diner, with its exposed stone walls, beamed ceiling and wood burner housed in a gorgeous inglenook fireplace. While he stretches out and puts his paws up for a spell, take a seat on the comfortable furniture in here and watch the Smart TV or simply enjoy the warmth of the fire. Take your chum through to the kitchen to serve him his dinner. Prepare yours in here too then dish up next door. Also downstairs is a family shower room. Head upstairs to lay your head in the pretty king-size bedroom or the twin. Parking for this cottage is on the street, subject to availability.

Make yourselves a picnic, pop a few dog treats in your pocket then head out on foot to explore the Derbyshire Hills on your doorstep. Visit Padley Gorge, 7 miles away, where you can let your delighted dog run free as you venture through the woodland. Let him dip his paws in the icy streams before putting him back on his lead before you cross Burbage Moor, where there is livestock. Energetic dogs might like to climb up to Bamford Edge with you. This beauty spot, 7 miles away, captures far-reaching views across the national park.

Fabulous and cozy cottage in beautiful location with lots of doggie walks close by. The food at the local pub (literally a few steps away from the front door!) was delicious. Clean and comfy beds, lovely warming log burner in lounge we found this property to be perfect for our stay in Derbyshire

Bathroom needs a refit and could be cleaner and also the single beds were very uncomfortable. Other than that we were pleased with the cottage and had a lovely time .

The property is certainly very well looked after, good location. Prices are a bit steep for what you get, but this is post COVID market and we booked during school holidays.

This is a small cottage but has been really well updated and maintained. A very comfortable bed, replacement windows and front door and thick curtains all help to keep you warm. We walked from the cottage to two of the best pubs in the Hope Valley - the Bretton Barrel and the Bulls Head in Foolow. What's not to like! There was also easy access to Read moreCastleton for a most enjoyable (though wet) walk up Mam Tor and along the ridge. My parents lived in Froggatt for 25 years so we know the area really well. This cottage was a lovely place to stay. Hide

We enjoyed our stay. The food at the Queen Anne was good (and the Bass). Four days of long walking in the area kept us in order and encouraged early nights!

A little disappointed there was no garden and pictures show green outside space. The cottage could have been cleaner, the kitchen was a little dirty and there were dead flies on the bathroom window sils
