Property code: OC-2128

Offering a unique opportunity for you to discover your sea legs (or paws) directly from your doorstep, this quirky cabin-style bungalow sits on the shore between Snettisham Beach and the lake. It is the perfect location from which to unleash seafaring adventures with your pack and welcomes a small family of up to four guests and two bow-wows. Spend your days swimming, kayaking or walking before returning to the comforts of this homely lodge.

Set across one easily accessible level, the interiors of the property are bright, airy and inviting; sit down in the cosy lounge after a day of adventuring with Fido at your feet or gather around the farmhouse-style dining table for a hearty family meal. The galley kitchen presents everything needed to comfortably cater for your stay and houses a handy breakfast bar. The two spacious bedrooms have been artfully decorated in a nautical scheme with a twin room at the front of the property and a double bedroom boasting lakeside views at the rear. The shower room has a door that leads directly outside for those willing to brave a wild swim before heading to the comforts of a warm shower. Outside, the patio courtyard is the ideal spot to sit back and admire lakeside views and a Norfolk sunset with a drink in hand.

The golden shingle shores of Snettisham Beach is a brilliant place to enjoy walkies (with some dog restrictions April-August for nesting birds) and the RSPB Nature Reserve is less than 1 mile away and welcomes well-behaved dogs on leads. Wander into the village for a hearty meal at a dog-friendly pub where you’ll also find a number of amenities such as village shops and tea rooms. Norfolk Lavender (5 miles) is a great day out for all the family and welcomes dogs on leads.

Brilliant bungalow in a fantastic location. The bungalow was located very close to a lake and beautiful Snetisham beach. The bungalow was very clean and comfortably equipped with everything. 12V sockets were available for phone charging. Tea, coffee, pitta crisps and dog treats were available at the property, very generous supply. We became temporaRead morery members of Snetisham sailing club and enjoyed a cold drink one evening. We used a provided kayak, which was fun. The location was peaceful and members of sailing club were friendly. We watched stunning sunsets on the beach every evening. We had a lovely stay and would highly recommend the Saling Club Bungalow. Hide

Comments about fridge state very small but its not that small it can hold large milk and 10 cans and meat ect the size of a loaf of bread . Road not as bad as stated but manageable. Beds really comfortable. Loved our stay and will be back.

We had a wonderful stay at the bungalow. It's a fabulous location for exploring the area. Amazing wildlife viewing from the seats at the back, glorious sunsets and sunrises. The bungalow was very comfortable and had everything we needed. The fridge is small but worked perfectly for the two of us. No problem with water or the shower. The lack of thrRead moreee pin electric sockets didn't worry us as only needed the USB sockets to charge phones, which worked perfectly. The sailing club was busy the week were there. If you are looking for seclusion this not the place for you! There were groups sailing everyday and every evening during our stay making the area outside the back of the bungalow quite busy with people sitting and watching. Some people may find this a bit intrusive. Hide

Basic but comfortable accommodation. We didnt use heating as warm enough. Shower pressure and hot water can be temperamental but adequate. Sailing club people very friendly. Walks good Dog facilities excellent. Access road filled with potholes so take care.

The views of sun rise and set were great although the road surface is like driving over the moon to get to there so take care especially when fully laden. There are some nasty low concrete bollards to watch for too. Off peak this area would suit wildlife enthusiasts better as the density of neighbouring holiday park homes suggests there wouldnt bRead moree much peace and tranquility here at busy times especially as the outside space and side slipway is the sailing club access to the lake - even onshore briefings and training were already taking place at the side of the property. The guest book indicates that at times evening events are literally held outside your bathroom, kitchen and bedroom window in the split patio area. A couple of loungers and some screening would not go amiss out there -we had to buy our own loungers Overall the RSPB site is a massive bonus but the birds are afforded more privacy than you may find staying here. My mum and I really enjoyed the stay at The Sailing Club Bungalow. It was very clean and bright. It was warm and a good base. The only thing as youve probably heard before is the drive to the bungalow. There are a lot of pot holes and you need to be careful. At first it seemed a mammoth task but once negotiated a couple of times it was okay as longRead more as you drive very slowly. Also I was taken aback about the lack of electricity sockets. Im not sure if I saw any information about this as I had bought my hair drier etc. overall a lovely relaxing stay very quiet and we managed to see the lovely sunset a couple of times despite the weather. Lovely location, easy access to the beach and the coastal paths. Mobile signal is limited. Nice being off grid for a while. Accommodation has everything you need, its basic but clean and tidy. Very small fridge so dont bring loads of fresh stuff that needs refrigeration.

The lodge is in a lovely setting and the people we met were friendly and nice. The sailing club were kind and helpful. It would have been helpful on the advert to know that the access road to the lodge is in really bad repair and would not suit all vehicles- particularly low skirting. The lodge is very basic and is lacking any general comfort. BasiRead morec needs were met but it would have been more helpful to fully explain how off grid the property is and that there is no point in bringing anything that needs power. (Unless you can charge by usb). I would only recommend this place to a friend if they wanted to get away from busy life and be completely off grid and if they didnt mind just the basic needs being covered. Hide
