A beautifully-furnished reverse-level cottage set in rolling countryside 3.5 miles from the bustling fishing village of Seahouses. The cottage is well-suited to active families seeking adventure on the Northumberland Coast AONB, featuring spacious bedrooms, a west-facing rear garden and easy access to a host of sandy beaches and period attractions.

This barn feels like home the moment you arrive thanks to a modern, uncluttered layout filled with colourful soft furnishings that glow in the natural light pouring in from all angles. Your first job will be to choose whose bedroom is whose, with a choice of an en-suite king-size bedroom with French doors leading to the garden; a super-king-size bedroom that can be converted to a twin bedroom; or a single bedroom, each of which are only a few paw prints from the family bathroom. You’ll find an open-plan living/kitchen/diner upstairs, a bright and stylish area with vaulted beamed ceiling and wide windows that show off wonderful views of the surrounding countryside towards Bamburgh Castle and the Farne Islands. The enclosed rear garden below has terraced and lawned areas, the ideal spot for alfresco brunches and dog-friendly children’s games.

The dogs will love exploring the grounds of Bamburgh Castle (2 miles), an 11th-century fortress sitting between a quaint village and a vast beach stretching to Seahouses (3.5 miles). You can take the dogs aboard the boats that visit the puffins and grey seals on the Farne Islands ( 6 miles) and enjoy a new perspective of the Northumberland Coast in the process.

The house was excellent! Didn't realise it was an upside down house until we arrived, but it was all the better for seeing the gorgeous views. The house was excellently equipped and lots of excellent and clear information on appliances in the house and the local area. Had an excellent week.

Had a fantastic week at 8 East Burton cottages which was the perfect base to explore the stunningly beautiful Northumberland coastline. The cottage was very well equipped with everything required for a comfortable and relaxing stay and we would definitely consider booking again when we are next visiting the Bamburgh area.

An upside down terrace cottage which maximised the views of the castle and the space. A boutique feel, and tastefully decorated, the cottage was comfortable, beautifully warm and extremely clean. It provided a great base to visit all the wonderful castles and stunning beaches. Owner provided a few extras which was a bonus.

We found it to be a well presented, well equipped property in a lovely area. The views from the cottage are breathtaking and the daily aerobatic display presented by the local barn swallows was delightful.

Great place, great location, close to many lovely dog friendly beaches. It's modern with everything you could need, very warm with lovely decor. It was clean but there was some dusty parts especially high up, nothing that a feather duster wouldn't sort. Good sized garden which catches the sun in the afternoon. Lovely views. Some renovation work goiRead moreng on due to storm damage but it didn't disturb us just damages the view slightly from the balcony. Wouldn't return just as we like to visit different places but would recommend to others. Hide

Views of the Castle great, but photos failed to show the outbuildings at the front of the house. We didn't sit outside in the garden as we didn't have the right weather. Would not have enjoyed the outlook of an old caravan and rubbish/mud etc. Appreciate problems with the storm, but feel not knowing this before we arrived dishonest.

Found Original Cottages extremely efficient keeping us constantly 'in the loop' regarding arrangements but feel we should have been made aware of the scaffolding adjacent to No. 8 and the possibility of work being carried out during our stay. However, we would be happy to use you in the future.

An excellent property. Brilliant except for some minor niggles - no dishwasher tablets, no recycling instructions and the view of the castle was partly obscured by scaffolding. No real complaints though. Overall, the standard of property we have found through Original Cottages is very high.
