This luxurious apartment boasts sea views and is set within the grounds of Thorpeness’s esteemed country club. The property sleeps four guests and one hound and would make a delightful couples’ retreat or coastal bolthole for a small family. Less than 100 metres from the apartment is the beach, which welcomes furry visitors all year. You’ll also be just 300 metres from the Meare.

The stunning two-storey apartment has a reverse-level layout and is decorated in neutral tones with little luxurious touches to make your stay feel extra special. The property is bathed in natural light and enjoys far-reaching views out to sea from its first-floor living area. On the ground floor, you’ll find two bedrooms – a king-size and a twin – overlooking the beach. The king-size has an en-suite shower room, and there’s also a stylish family bathroom. Upstairs, the lounge/diner is a stunning place to unwind, with a choice of comfortable seating arranged and a large dining table for spending mealtimes together. There’s also a breakfast bar in the separate kitchen for informal dining. The apartment has no outside space, but with the beach on your doorstep, you’ll find plenty of space to walk the woofer and fill your lungs with fresh, sea air.

The woof-friendly sand and shingle beach is backed by pastel-coloured villas and cottages, and is a charming place for a morning walk with your four-pawed chum, with views looking across to Aldeburgh and Dunwich. A 2-mile walk along the coast path will bring you to the seaside town of Aldeburgh. The town has a vibrant arts scene, and you’ll find plenty of galleries to explore, as well as some beautiful sculptures dotted throughout the town. Be sure to sample the iconic fish and chips when you’re here, too.

Great location opposite the beach and walkable to the Dolphin pub and Thorpeness Kitchen. The house is really comfortable for 2 adults and 2 teenagers plus a Labrador! It was a bit cold over Easter but the heaters did the job keeping the property warm, and the sun streams through the windows to the sea views. 2 Truman Lodge is a very nice, comfortable apartment in a good location but if you are looking for a quiet retreat this property may not be suitable. It is attached to the Country Club which holds functions (even in the winter) which can include loud music until late as we experienced in January.

The accommodation is tucked away in a beautiful part of coastal Suffolk. There is an excellent pub and cafe within walking distance or you have all the facilities to hand to cook - we saw the local supermarket delivery truck arriving a few times. Highly recommend.

Lovely location, which delighted us from the minute we parked. The flat had lots of lovely aromas in each room, nicely decorated with a homely feel. Very relaxing all round for a total recharge this property is recommended
