What better way to spend time on your precious holiday than staring out to sea with your faithful four-legged friend by your side. Do just that from the glass-fronted balcony or living room in this two-bedroom Porthleven property. Monitor the tides or watch people walking the South West Coastal Path. The sandy expanse of Porthleven beach is literally a pebble’s throw away when it’s time for walkies – parts of it are dog-friendly year-round. The stylish modern interiors of this semi-detached house are ideal for a small family or friendship group – and don’t forget man’s best friend!

This property has a clever upside-down layout to take full advantage of those stunning Lizard Peninsula views. It’s a wonderfully light and airy space with generous open-plan living accommodation. The unfussy lounge area invites you in with its cosy wood burner, comfortable sofas, Smart TV and large picture window and French doors onto the small balcony. The sleeping quarters are downstairs, comprising one king-size and one twin bedroom sharing a modern shower room. Both bedrooms are beautifully decorated in relaxing tones with modern furniture and a luxury feel for a good night’s sleep. As well as the balcony, there’s a larger furnished decked area too.

If you can tear yourself away from the views, this popular town’s harbour, bars, restaurants, galleries and shops are also within 1 mile and the beach literally over the road. Check your tide charts and plan a trip to St Michael’s Mount (9.5 miles) or get a culture fix at Tate St Ives, 16.5 miles across land on the North Cornwall coast.

On pictures, Neptune house looks amazing, however up close there are a few niggles which need looking into. When you are paying such a lot of money to stay in this house you expect top quality all through, sadly you dont get that! The main bedroom has been shoved at the back of the house so your view is a wall!! Not what we expected!! The ward yinRead more this bedroom have broken doors and the blinds dont work as they are so old and dirty! The front bedroom which gets the amazing view is very very tight on space. The rope banister is about to break.could be very dangerous. The bathroom is nice overall, however the sink and loo should be the other way round, the loo is squeezed into the tiniest of spaces!! The upstairs, which is the open plan lounge area is quite nice, pictures online make it look amazing, however the grill would not work for me whatever I did, the rest of the kitchen area is lovely though, well equipped for a family. The lounge area has what looks like an amazing sofa area, unfortunately the sofa has seen better days, its discoloured and very low to the ground too, anyone with knee or hip problems would struggle on such a low seated sofa. The view is amazing!! Overall we had a super week at Neptune house, however we thought the lamp house next door, where we stayed last year was much more loved and homely. These cottages are you other very expensive and you do expect perfection when youre paying nearly 2000 for a week here, sadly Neptune house looks the part on paper but lacks the wow factor once youre inside. Travel Chapter response: Thank you for your feedback, apologies that you were disappointed with the layout of the property, it is as advertised. The blinds were purchased last year and are possibly still stiff and all other points raised have been addressed since your visit. Hide

Wow! What a holiday we had - first week was calm then Storm Eowyn arrived and after that Storm Herminia! If you love storm watching, this is the place to do it. The views from the property are spectacular and made our holiday. As visitors, we found the town welcoming and friendly with a choice of eateries considering it was January. We had breathtaRead moreking walks when the weather allowed. The sea was just boiling coming into the harbour during the second week - having lived in Cornwall previously and for many years, we had never seen anything like it. The property was exactly what we needed with comfortable, reverse level accommodation to take in the incredible views. Beds were comfy and we slept well on the ground floor during both storms with two blips in power which must have immediately restored themselves as we only realised because the cooker clock was flashing. Internet was good - initially we both did some work from home simultaneously and it held up well to both of us being on Teams calls at the same time. Kitchen incredibly well equipped. We loved it and were sorry to go home but we are planning our next visit. Hide

Great location for walking along the coastal paths or into Porthleven. We have a big car, but managed to find parking easily, close to the property. The property was very clean. Would stay again.

This cottage is perfect for truly relaxing.I loved lying in bed at night listening to the waves on the shore. The view of the sea from the living area is stunning. The sunsets were beautiful and it was lovely to see the fishing boats setting off and returning later in the day. The position of the cottage is perfect for a walk into Porthleven for Read morethe shops and restaurants and also for dog walking in the other direction towards Loe Bar and Penrose. It's also nice to have a parking area outside beside the house. Hide

A great location and the view is wonderful; the apartment is comfortable and convenient for the rest of Porthleven, however, I dont feel the property was worth the price tag! If youre going to charge 1200+ for a property then its got to be 100% maintained in all areas, the log burner should be left with kindling logs and matches, and there shouldnRead moret be dog hairs left around the apartment. The Friday changeover is also problematic for those with children of school age and working people who dont want to take an extra days leave! Hide

Neptune House is the perfect place to stay for a visit to Porthleven; it's position is just wonderful with amazing views and only a 10 minute walk into the centre. The cottage is very well equipped and comfortable; we've have now stayed 3 times and having just returned home from our latest visit will be booking again for next year.
