This cosy stone cottage (Grade II listed) boasts stylish interiors with original features and more than a dash of quirky in Croyde. Escape with family or friends plus up to two VIPs (very important pooches) for a holiday to remember at this two-bed North Devon home from home. Let the past speak to you in the beamed and stone-walled lounge/diner or just take your best furry buddies for a bracing walk on Croyde Beach within 1 mile (do check seasonal restrictions). Sit and watch the surfers together while you contemplate the meaning of life.
The open-plan lounge/diner is a stunning space, with a bright and airy feel, whitewashed stone, beams in the low ceiling as well as an historic oven in the wall along with an up-to-date wood burner. At one end, the dining table easily seats four for meals cooked up by the chef du jour in the adjacent kitchen which is modern and well-equipped. Rather brilliantly, the original well is in here and has a round glass cover and is exactly where you’ll stand to wash up! Upstairs, the sleeping quarters comprise one king-size bedroom (can be a twin upon request) and one double bedroom with one additional high bunk for a child. Both feature beams and stylish, neutral decor for a good night’s sleep. Outside there’s a private, paved courtyard.
Explore the independent shops, surf gear and places to eat in this charming village, besides the gorgeous beach. There’s a pub within 200 metres for nights you can’t be bothered to cook and to burn that off the next day, the South West Coast Path is joined in either direction within 1 mile. Doggy heaven! You’re also within the North Devon Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty here, so there’s plenty of footpaths and places to discover.
