Embrace the Suffolk coast and the Alde Estuary by uncovering the many scenic walking trails that begin from the doorstep of this quaint countryside cottage. This peaceful retreat has retained plenty of character and charm, and is the perfect place for families to unwind with their canine companions.

After a long day of adventuring, lead the way through to the welcoming lounge to flop down on the comfy sofa. Let your four-legged friend curl up in their special spot on the hearth beside the roaring wood burner. Boasting oodles of old-world charm from its exposed ceiling beams to its feature AGA, head into the farmhouse-style kitchen/diner to cook up local produce before relaxing in the adjoining dining room with plenty of space for Rover’s water bowl. As day turns to night, retire upstairs to find a characterful king-size room, and a twin zip-and-link bedroom. Outside, your tufty-pawed pal will have a ball sniffing around the enclosed lawn as you dine alfresco on the terrace or admire your open countryside views from the comfort of the summerhouse.

With many footpaths beginning from the doorstep, you and your canine companion can walk for hours around the small village of Snape and uncover the true natural beauty of the Alde Estuary. Take the lead to neighbouring Snape Maltings, 1.5 miles away, to discover some fabulous local produce from its eclectic selection of independent shops and cafes, or join the trails alongside the River Alde through Aldeburgh Marshes (5.5 miles) and along Aldeburgh Bay and look out for local wildlife. Treat your pup to an afternoon getting their paws sandy and practising the doggy paddle at Sizewell Beach, 7 miles away.

  • 2 bedrooms – 1 king-size, 1 twin zip-and-link room (that can be made up as a super-king on request when booking)

A well equipped comfortable cottage and near to local amenities, especially Snape Maltings. Not a good lane for walking though as it is very narrow and winding. But a peaceful location with attractive countryside views

Overall, a very nice and well-equipped cottage with good space on the ground floor. The rear garden was a bit overgrown, but the pretty wisteria made up for that! Would recommend Friday Street farm shop with its wonderful fresh produce and a caf serving quality breakfasts. The cottage was delightful and extremely comfortable. We loved our stay. The aga was a delight to use. The garden was enclosed and secure. This was extremely important as our dog is a runner! Everywhere we went was dog friendly. There are plenty of places to eat in the area that welcomes dogs. Everyone we met was SO friendly. There are many places Read moreto visit locally and we loved Thorpeness and Arlburgh. The Friday farm shop, was amazing for fruit and veg. There were plenty of footpaths near the cottage to use for Walkies. It was an easy walk across the fields, on the marked footpaths, to Snape and then onto Snape Maltings. We had a wonderful week of exploration. Hide

Lovely; very comfortable and (with one exception) very well equipped. Set in a quiet location but very well placed for easy access to the coast and all local attractions. Lovely secure garden with walking from the door. The only exception mentioned above is that I feel that more than two guests staying would find the lack of adequate wardrobe/hangRead moreing space somewhat challenging. The cottage is comfortable and set in a quiet location. The sitting room is quite dark and needs better lighting to allow easy reading. We enjoyed the separate dining area next to the kitchen. As there was no water in the kitchen taps, we were able to use the utility room next to the dining room to wash up albeit a bit irritating!
