A stone barn conversion set in a complex of similarly characterful properties just 0.5 miles from Seahouses, one of many bustling villages found the length of the Northumberland Coast AONB. Enjoying rolling countryside views capped by the North Sea, open-plan living areas and two spacious bedrooms, this barn is ideal for two dogs bringing five human companions for a holiday split between shoreside activities and relaxation.

The barn is laid out over a single floor with close attention paid to making the most of the space available. Exposed stone walls feature throughout the cottage, most notably in the open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner, which has a light, free-flowing ambience and is a comfortable space to come together as a group. A family bedroom, comprising a super-king-size bed and a single bed, stands close to a double bedroom and a family bathroom. Outside, a partially enclosed paved courtyard terrace with sea and countryside views offers a tranquil setting for alfresco brunches or sunset toasts to another day well spent.

Seahouses (0.5 miles) is a bustling fishing village with dog-friendly pubs, shops and cafes. Your four-pawed friends have the run of the village beach, which leads to Bamburgh (9 miles), home to more dog-friendly amenities and an astonishing castle that has guarded the Northumberland coast since the 11th century. The market town of Alnwick (10 miles) is great for a mooch, or for something different, take the dogs out to the Farne Islands (3 miles) by boat to get acquainted with the local wildlife.

The Nook was a lovely property in a great position, very quiet even though it is just off the A1. It was very clean and well equipped. There was a welcome hamper waiting for our arrival, although some milk would have been appreciated. We knew the courtyard was not enclosed (which was a shame) as it meant the dogs were unable to be outside without aRead more lead on. A personal touch from the owner was some lovely suggestions on places to stop en route to The Nook and some recommendations on things to do whilst we were there. We would not hesitate to recommend this lovely property. Hide

The cottage is remote but close to the A1 to get to the main tourist attractions. The cottage itself is lovely, well decorated and equipped well. We loved our time in this cottage and will hopefully return.

The cottage is very well located for exploration of the sights of this part of Northumberland. The parking was very convenient, the key safe is a very convenient facility and the small community is quiet and peaceful. We found all that we needed in the modern kitchen. The house is modern but cosy and we were very comfortable during our stay.

This is the ideal get away location. It was our first trip to Northumberland, and we couldn't have chosen a better cottage. It is easy to get to from the A1 and close to Alnwick and the coast - without being on the coast. The cottage is light airy and spacious, with everything we needed for our stay. The bed was just the best, huge and incredibly cRead moreomfortable. There was also plenty of extra bedding. The cottage was warm, despite the unseasonably cold weather, and we didn't need to light the wood burner. Loved having the parking right outside the door. Everything was spot on - but had to mention the thoughtful touches, like the range of phone chargers, and the helpful guide to the area. (Especially loved the recommendation sent by text while we were en-route, with a great recommendation for a stop off) Hide
