Escape to this beautiful house on the outskirts of Porthcothan, complete with uninterrupted countryside and sea views and luxury touches throughout. Sleeping up to 10 people in four bedrooms, but with stacks of room and space to take time out, it’s ideally suited to a multigenerational family or even two families holidaying together. And, best of all, up to two canine companions are welcome, so the whole pack’s together. It’s 0.5 miles to the dog-friendly beach, so that’s walkies sorted.
This comfortable detached house is stylish and decorated in cool tones throughout with oak floors, top spec fixtures and fabulous bathrooms. The bright kitchen/diner is a triumph of open-plan living with a large contemporary kitchen and island with stools at one end, comfortable seating to keep chef company plus a modern dining table for 10. French doors open onto a patio area too. Upstairs, the lounge has a characterful roofline following the eaves, a wood burner-effect gas fire, comfortable seating and views from both inside and the balcony. The elegant sleeping quarters are on both ground and first floors – there’s a king-size with garden access and a quad (twin, single and trundle beds) downstairs, while upstairs are two en-suite king-size bedrooms.
With such easy beach access, a lot of time will be spent walking your faithful hounds here, watching them have a ball in the sea. As you’re on holiday, you can do nothing at all other than make memories with your nearest and dearest. However, if you fancy adventure, hike sections of the coastal cliff path. For day trips, big tourist hitters include fishing town turned foodie haven Padstow (5.5 miles), surfer haven Newquay (8.5 miles) or Mawgan Porth with its wide and sandy expanse (4 miles). Or go off-piste and discover quieter towns and coves for yourselves.
