Visit the Holy Island of Lindisfarne, 5 miles (checking tide times carefully before crossing the causeway), where canines are welcome inside the priory. From the charming village of Etal, 7 miles, you can hop on a steam train and puff along to Heatherslaw (your furry friend travels free!), enjoying gorgeous views along the way.
