With sublime views over Whitby, the estuary and the steam railway line, this contemporary second-floor apartment provides a lovely coastal escape for a couple or small family and their beloved canine companions. With comfortable and stylish interiors, a private parking spot, and a secure mooring with an electric hook-up on the estuary, this makes a great base for exploring by land or by water.
Enter via the shared ground-floor entrance and take the stairs to the second floor. The hub of the home is an open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner. This bright and airy room has plenty of comfortable seating for the weary-pawed to rest at the end of the day, whether you prefer to watch TV or gaze out at the estuary and railway line. Rustle up family favourites and prepare doggy dinners in the smart fitted kitchen, then gather your pack to eat together at the dining table. When it’s time for bed, retire to the two relaxing bedrooms, one super-king-size and one twin, ready for a new leash of life in the morning.
Although there’s no outside space with this property, you can moor your boat outside ready to potter up and down the river in search of adventures. Located south of Whitby Marina, it’s around a mile or so to the centre of the historic town where you can amble around the harbour or climb the 199 steps to St Mary’s Church and the iconic Whitby Abbey. Alternatively set tails wagging with a trip on the HMS Bark Endeavour, a replica of a ship sailed by Captain Cook in 1768. The area is rich with walking routes, including two long-distance trails, the Cleveland Way and Cinder Track, and there are several beaches for your pup to dig in the sand or get the zoomies, although watch for summer dog restrictions in certain areas.
