Located in a quiet spot but close to all the action in Whitby and just 500 metres from the beach, this three-storey fisherman’s cottage is perfect for friends, family, or a couple looking for a base to enjoy this ever-popular seaside resort. The cottage has sea views and a lovely, enclosed patio you can let your canine friend explore.
The subtle seaside theme runs through this home-from-home where there’s plenty of space to cook and dine together in the kitchen/diner and relax in front of the TV (with DVD, Freeview, and Chromecast) and coal-effect gas fire. On the first floor are the twin bedroom, the bathroom and a separate WC. The master bedroom, with a double bed, is on the second floor. It has an en-suite shower cubicle and great views over the harbour to St Mary’s Church on the headland.
The cottage is close to Whitby’s famous cobbled streets and has an excellent range of shops and places to eat out – having fish and chips is a must while you’re here! Wander around the harbour, to the beach or up to the ruins of the famous Abbey, which inspired Bram Stoker’s Dracula – all within 0.5 miles of the house. Your furry friend will love it here too. There are clifftop walks along the Cleveland Way National Trail in both directions, south to Robin Hood’s Bay and north to Staithes. The North York Moors are also on your doorstep with myriad trails through incredible scenery. For a gentler way to explore the area, book yourselves and your furry friend a ride on the North Yorkshire Moors Railway or the Esk Valley Railway at Whitby station.
